I don't think I've ever played a bad Treasure game. I loved Alien Soldier--insanely hard and ultimately satisfying. You should definitely play Gunstar Heroes, Yu Yu Hakusho, Guardian Heroes and Contra HardCorps if you can. Also I agree that Sin and Punishment is a shooter--it felt more like Panzer Dragoon than anything else.

  2. I've beaten Sin and Punishment before, but I'm looking to run through in a single credit. My problem begins and ends on level 3-2. The seond half of the level is just pissing me off.

Anyone have a video or a good guide for this level?

What a pain in the ass.

I've played Gunstar Heroes (need to pick up a copy) and Guardian Heroes, both great games. Never touched Yu Yu Hakusho and I don't consider Hardcorps to be a Treasure game.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable "Treasure Sucks!" comments...
Another way to say it is "I'm sure some one will eventually post a reply with an opinion that is different than mine."

Treasure does good work, but stay away from Stretch Panic and Silpheed TLP.

I have beaten the game in one credit, actually right now I'm working on beating the game without getting hit (Normal Mode). There are about 2 spots in the game where I usually screw up. The farthest I have gotten is level 2-1 "The Blue Raid" right up to the part where the boat is dropping mines into the water.

I don't know of any videos, I wanna make some someday, maybe I will be able to with my new monitor, or I think my friend has a monitor that can.

Anyway, I don't know what to really tell you about 3-2..it is just getting good at dodging/shooting and memorization. Make sure you always go for the guys who throw out the spinning blades first as those are a bitch to dodge. Also, make sure you slice at the green floating ruffians to kill the worm-like enemies that shoot lasers out of their tails ASAP.

  6. Is there anywhere to still pick this game up? I searched EBAY and there's one copy for sale but the auction ends in six hours and I'd probably have to wait until at least next paycheck (two weeks)to buy it.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  7. i have a brand new copy of sin & punishment sitting in my room, and has never been played because i don't have an N64.

But I assume you don't want to sell it.

  9. Im glad to see so much positive feedback for this game, its one of my all time favs up there with Xenogears and Dodonpachi. And as for Treasure, well, what can be said about them that hasent before....all their games spill quality and originality. The exception being Silpheed, however that has a story behind it. Sony turned to Treasure with a task that only a company like them might be able to pull off. "Make us a PS2 game that will show off the PS2 graphical qualities". Fair enough, said Treasure, thats easy :] "Oh and u only have a month to do it in, well, good luck!" .....So considering the games actual development time, I say its pretty awesome, I know I enjoyed it, hell I only played it once, and completed it on the same run with a only a little persistence, but the CG was amazing and the story pretty good....so to me it was like movie.

To comment on the controller scheme, its pretty much like how the Nintendo developed GameCube games are. The GC pad is fantastic when the games are made to be played ONLY with that pad. Heance why Bangai-0 felt so much ...well...right, on the N64 pad.

Anyway, this is the kinda game I play once a month, and I have a LOT of games. The story, acting, playmechs...I love them all. The one and only thing I dont like about this game is the totally obvious plot holes and level gaps. Even when using the current story in its original form, u could push in another 4-5 levels at least! Examples being maybe Achi resistance fighting before the ruffian invasion, and at the start of level 3 when he investigates the howling...I mean, why not fit another level in there ^^. Not to mention u only play as the ruffian once ><!

What I wouldent give for another sword fight with Brad....that was proberbly my favourite gaming moment ever....

  10. Uh are you telling us that Silpheed the lost planet took a month to make and that Sony wanted them to make it?
