Sidez - If you one-creditted it, I'm sure your score must be decent enough to post here.
I still need to get back to this one sometime soon. My score is downright embarassing.
I have finally been able to complete this game and I am so glad I bought the system especially for it. Best game on the N64, no question. I really like the English voice acting, some might argue that it has no emotion but that's what I like about it. The game world is so cold and the atmosphere so tense, it just fits it nicely. When Brad started dueling Airan with the blade I started sweating buckets. And then the final stage played out like a 2D side scroller but with 3D aiming was simply genius. I just couldn't believe how cool the game is, it's like Treasure raided my mind and made the game just for me.
Anyway it's my favourite 3D game ever, just like Alien Soldier is my favourite 2D game. It makes me happy just thinking about it and it keeps me up at night.
Btw I don't regard Silpheed as a Treasure game, never will do. They may have contributed to the programming but no way did the creators of Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga design that mess. That's too far fetched for me.

If you get the "PERFECT BONUS" on the Final Boss, which is achieved by
not letting a single projectile hit the earth, you get a whopping 5,000,000 bonus.
Now if you get the Perfect Bonus then the "EARTH LIFE BONUS" , which is how much life the earth has left (MAX 50,000 x 100) will automatically net you another 5,000,000.
Now add in Yellow Diamond Bonus points, Bonuses from defeating the boss, and shooting every damn thing on screen. You can get 11,000,000+ Points just from the last boss!
You just need to the learn the patterns and it isn't actually that hard. I wanted to know how much you got for that Bonus, and it was well worth it. I just used practice mode for about 15 minutes and tried it over and over.
have you finished the hard mode? it is so much more difficult than easy/normal. enemies do more damage, bosses have more life, harder patterns.. took me a few days to get through it. especially that damn subway boss.Originally posted by Mzo
I never had a problem with the controls... the only hard part is doing two things at once (aiming and platforming at once). But you get used to that. I beat the game on Easy and Normal within the first week of owning the game (w/o playing it daily).
That's funny coming from a guy who had two copies of Radiant Silvergun at some point or another.Originally posted by 88mph
OMFG! YUO LIK TRESUR? YUO AR TEH FAGGIT!!1![]()
I've only played through in easy mode, tried normal today and only got as far as Brad :/ I'm tempted to work on the one credit complete though.
Well you're half right. None of the Ikarguga team and very little of the Radiant team worked on Silpheed, but most of the Silpheed team were Treasure staff. Treasure did not, however, have creative control over the project.Originally posted by Sidez

I've found S&P to be way more fun on the higher difficulties. When I first played the game through it was on normal. When I later bought the game it defaulted to easy somehow, and I played it and though "Damn, it's still cool, but not as cool as I remember". Then I figured out to set it to normal and all was right with the world once again.Originally posted by Sidez

Thought so. Silpheed aint a Treasure game then in my book. I'm sure the same applies with Dragon Drive. Half the fun with Treasure games are the fantastic designs both artistically and in terms of gameplay.
I agree, but I'd be lying if I didn't say some of their liscensed stuff was excellent. In particular I think Hajime no Ippo and Yu Yu Hakusho are not only great games, but great uses of their respective liscenses. I hope to be able to say the same about Wario World and Gradius V when they release. Treasure is certainly capable of doing good things with other people's liscenses.Originally posted by Sidez

McDonalds Treasureland was great as a testbed for new ideas, Dynamite Heady did away with the license and perfected those concepts. I feel the same way with Yu Yu Hakusho and Guardian Heroes. Those two MD games based on a license effectively made onsolete and not worth owning.Originally posted by Frogacuda

I really need to give Hajime no Ippo a try but I have no doubt that Gradius V and Wario World are fantastic games. I agree that Treasure can do good licensed games but only if they're in command in terms of gameplay design.
