    Gamespy interviews

Gamespy has some good interviews with some of gaming's greats, if anyone's interested.

Warren Spector talks about Deus Ex 2, game design, consoles gaming, etc.

Richard Garriott talks about EA, Ultima, NC Soft, game design and future projects.

  2. Harvey Smith & Ricardo Bare from Deus Ex: Invisible War devteam comin' tomorrow.

Awesome. Harvey seems to be the most important person in DX2's development so I'm definitely looking forward to reading it.

  4. Great interviews: I read Lord Brittish first, but enjoyed Spector's interview more. Thanks NeoZ, BenT and the rest of Gamespy -_o

    Another great interview, BenT.

It's too bad more people here aren't interested. This stuff is as important as any Sega interview.

Oh well, my quest to expose gamers to Looking Glass Studios, its descendants, and emergent game design continues.

  6. Worde. Thanks for the kind words. It was a blast to chat with them, and actually inspiring to see such creative design work being done first-hand. A world away from the day to day banality of many developers, US or otherwise.

Anyway, the big preview is finally comin' tomorrow. Writing it now.

DX2 should get an official thread soon, methinks.

Edit: Btw, just in case you don't know of it... The System Shock Hack Project:

Edit 2: The preview was pushed back to Sunday. Solly. :/

  7. I'm guessing I'll finally upgrade my video card for DE2...

It will be interesting to see how that System Shock hack project turns out.

There was also a fan-made System Shock sequel being made using the Half-Life engine. I wonder what happened to that.

I just read the new DX2 preview and Holy Shit!, this most definitely sounds like it has potential to blow everything else on the market away.

My personal dilemma is that there's almost no chance that I will have a PC that can run it by June. I could buy the Xbox version but I'm not sure if I want to taint my first DX2 experience by not having mouse/keyboard controls. Is the Xbox version coming out on the same day as the PC one?

  10. That Spector interview was a great read. Man, I can't wait for DX2...
You probably don't think I'm a very nice guy...
