BOO YEAH! Picked it up today, well my bro did. I got to level 3 so far. How the HELL did this game get bad reviews? Its sweet I think.
I thought it was suppose to be really easy too? I think its fine on the normal setting. I think I do need to change my controls a littl though. Locking on with R2 then having to block with circle just doesnt work for me. And I have no problem with the enemy AI at all. Its seems pretty much the same as the other two games.
The intro was damn nice.
So far the music is better than the 1st two games.
Graphics looks really clean and well done too.
Oh so sweet stealth killing is!
Can you save more than one game on a memory card?
So far this is a damn fine and FUN game.
Xbox Live- SamuraiMoogle
EvilMog forgot to say that we tried Co-op and deathmatch right before I went to work. Co-op seems sweet!!! The first level had us running around a village finding scrolls. I seen Evilmog being chased around by 2 guards so I came to his rescue and we whupped their ass!! You can hit each other so you gotta be a little careful when trying to team up on a guy. This game is SWEEEET!
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"
sounds good.. me thinks i'm gonna get it ASAP
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!
LOL Thats what I love about this game!! All these little things that make all the differences in the world. Tenchu 3 has that same magic!! It seems so strange all the weird things they say! It gives the games such personality!! I love when the guards yell "ninja!!!" in the new one. I going to play right now!!Originally posted by johnk_
What?! Where are you?!....[3 seconds]....Nice night!

This game is total fan-service. I've only played through the first level, but I've already experienced the following things that were also in the first Tenchu: (not spoilers at all, but I'll mark it as such anyway in case)
1) The guard laying down on the ground resting.
2) The boss at the end of the level saying "C'mon, c'mon" to the nearby girl.
3) The two music tracks in the level are remixes of the first level theme and boss theme from Tenchu 1.
4) The random girls and cats running around just to get you caught.
5) The level design itself is very, very similar to the first level in Tenchu 1. The first thing you'll do is grapple onto the nearby roof and run across it past a girl, dog and a guard. Very cool.
6) Pretty much the same exact character select, story, and item selection screens.
Great game. The gameplay is starting to show its age, but I'm sure if they make another sequel, they'll freshen it up. So far, this totally makes up for Tenchu 2.
By the way, the co-op mode is brilliant and consistently hilarious fun.
Here's some impressions, but overall, I love it...
Graphics are GREAT. It's weird playing a Tenchu game where the draw distance isn't a factor. Everything is nice, clear, and detailed, and the animation has improved a lot from the demo. Rikimaru no longer runs like he has to take a shit. Ayame's animation is especially impressive, and she's so damn fast! Control's sharp, the camera's good, and the character models are great (Ayame looks especially cool). The environmental effects are nice, too, such as the rain and the little ripples you leave in the water. Finally, the music is back and it's pretty damn good, too. And the stealth kills are sweet. I love how when you cut someone's head off their head just sits there spewing blood as well as the body...
When they said K2 was trying to recapture the feel of the first Tenchu game, they weren't kidding. The overall presentation is exactly the same as the first game- it felt like I was playing Tenchu 1 with jacked-up graphics. Which is a good thing. And thank god they fixed the broken grappling hook from T2. It works like it should now, though sometimes they do tricky things to you and put spikes on some of the rooftops for a nice suprise when you zip up there...
One thing I've noticed- if you fill up your special meter and gain a new move, you lose the move and and your meter resets to 0 if you kill an innocent bystander.
And it wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention the guards. The shit they say is pretty funny...last night, I cut a guard's head off, and then got spotted by another guard. I grappling hooked up to a roof and hung out, watching the new guard. He sees the behead corpse, runs over to it, and does the following:
Yells, "NINJA!", and draws his sword.
Looks around for 5-6 seconds.
Says, "Ah, forget it!", and puts his sword away, the bloody, decapitated body still at his feet.![]()

Well, I watched DJ play first level last night, and I agree that Tenchu 3 is very succesful in recapturing the spirit of original game. The environments, characters, controls, music, everything it top notch, and the game is just so damn fun to play.
Spikes on the rooftops is a neat touch, and as Dolemite mentioned sometimes can give you a surpise when you land
So far we did about 6 different stealth kills with Rikkimaru, and each one is very cool.
Openinin cinema is also wonderfull. Will definately add it to my cinema collection
Tonight we will play some Co-op, so that should be fun. DJ took the game to his friend house yesterday, and played Deathmatch/Co-op there, and said its indeed very fun to play.
The only problem I found was a slight framerate hickup. Normally it's a silky-smooth 60fps, but there was one part where I was attacked by two spear-weilding guards and I threw down a smoke bomb, and suddenly I hit an amazing amount of slowdown. It only lasted 2 or 3 seconds, but still, it was severe. And there really wasn't that much going on at the time, just three characters on-screen (including me) and a smoke bomb going off. Adn it only happened in this one courtyard. Otherwise the framerate's fine. Weird.
Anyway, I plan on trying the two-player modes tonight. I was telling my girlfriend about the co-op mode and she's psyched about trying it. She likes playing co-op with me...the other night we were playing the co-op missions in the PS2 version of Half-Life (Deacy), and it was a lot of fun.
