    Acclaim has announced a new futuristic PlayStation 2 racing game: XGRA. In development by Acclaim Studios Cheltenham and set for a UK release of August 2003 (a US announcement should come shortly), the game takes place in 2025 in the biggest and most treacherous racing competition around. Features for XGRA include:

    <li>Addition of cars and side cars - more weapons, less speed

    <li>Transfers and contract hires - the better you do, the more they want you
    <li>Improved and enhanced crashes, bike and player damage
    <li>Real-time commentary and race history
    <li>New bike and character models - in-depth team characteristics </ul>

  3. Sure looks like it to me.

    The new game's going to focus more on the combat. The best things about XG3 were the speed and track design.....the weapons system was superfluous, as you could beat the game without ever firing a single shot. Hopefully the new one will be a bit more tactical. I just hope the track design doesn't become less adventurous for the sake of interactivity and combat.

    At any rate, I'm looking forward to it.

    I can't wait!!! I would love some stylin' cycle racing akin to Wipeout.
