Thread: E3 200....4!

  1. E3 200....4!

Well, there comes a time when one needs to finally sit down and say, "So... what can I afford?" Unfortunately, E3 2003 is not on the list. I have a car to pay for, some cc debt and insurance. No E3 this year. Would've been my third year going, too.

But alas! There is always a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel. I will for sure attend E3 2004, so I will now begin to speculate and anticipate that while the rest of you gear up for the big show this year.

What'll happen at E3'04? I predict the following...

    * Xbox 2, PS3 shown. Nintendo holds onto GC for one more year.

    * MS/Sony handhelds shown. Everyone expects Nintendo to be blown out of the water but... they show up with GameBoy X (insert dream name here). GameBoy X surprises the competition and actually turns out to be the best of the systems announced. Formats: GBX sticks with stadard cart, PS Travel Unit uses either standard PS style memory card size cards (and as a caveat, games are made for PS3 that allow people to write games onto these cards) or link to a later add-on unit- A CD player. Xboy uses either standard CD/DVDs or mini-sized.

    * Major buyout occurs. Think Sega or Capcom. Buyer- MS? Sony? Nintendo? Probably not. EA, most likely. They want more of a foothold in Japan to tap that market.

And there we are. While everyone goes to 2003, I will wallow in my pit and dream of 2004.
bastard of the new world order.

  2. Nintendo go third party.

that might make some sense, but it won't happen.. i'm sure.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  4. Hopefully I'll make my first trip to E3 for 2004 too Anyway, nice predictions, they may very well turn out.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  5. Who cares? It's a year away. Why put serious thought into something when so much can occur during the course of twelve months?

  6. Spending money for a plane ticket to Los Angeles, a hotel room to stay in, and food to eat, just to get the opportunity to look at thousands of nerds salivate over the latest geekfests from Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft/whoever else and the uninterested booth babes, is a waste.

    I know, Ive been there.

I may go to E3 2003 for a day, but thats just because its a free bus ride to the LACC. But, even if it costs me nothing, Im still not interested - I just want to see my NJ friends that are going (i.e. people I worked with at EB).

Sorta explained it but hey, whatever. Your rain will not spoil my fun.

Hopefully I'll make my first trip to E3 for 2004 too
I am surprised you haven't been there yet. To be honest, despite the nerds, E3 is the best time of the year for me. It's a blast. The noise, being totally busy and eating fast food every day. Nice!

  8. I'm hoping to go this year, but since that probably won't happen, I'll hold out hope for next year.

I thought it was just people who have contacts?
