Nobody is saying that Almaci's arguments are invalid due to grammatical issues. It's just difficult to read.
I know a guy whose English is impossible to read but it doesn't mean his opinions don't matter.
Why surely, you are at this very moment.Originally posted by Stone
Look, grammar isn't an issue when you're talking about how much Devil May Cry sux0rs, right?
And, I don't really think Almaci would be making a whit of sense even if he was speaking in his native tongue.
But, in a thread like this where being able to actually communicate with others is a virtue - grammar is an issue. Almaci's poor handle on the English language has made having some semblance of an intelligent discourse even more difficult than it would've been already. It's doubly frustrating reading his responses when 1.) It doesn't seem like he understands what we're posting and 2.) He can't communicate whatever he's trying to convey in the first place.
It's our fault for engaging him, anyways.
Almaci - in America, it's considered poor taste to bring up academic accomplishments (like the school you go to or how many languages you know) when you're having any sort of semi-intellectual+ debate with someone else. Don't know if it's like that in Europe, but here's a heads' up.
("What about your criticisms of Almaci's grammar?" - no one's been criticizing his grammar in order to negate or nullify the power of whatever he's saying. It's been brought up purely because it makes argument difficult, and no one is lording it over him the way he seems to be doing with his "mastery" of 6 languages.)
Again you try to eradicate everything I said, stated, pointed towards, linked to etcetera on the basis now that maybe my grasp of the English language isnt good enough.
keep trying man, youre previous attempts didnt stick and neither will this one.

bastard of the new world order.
Thanks
Oh BTW I rather like Devil may cry
In my world, "mastering" a language means that you have proper grammar in it. If you don't, back to the books for ye!Originally posted by Almaci
Like I said before, its difficult having proper grammar in every language you speak/understand if you have mastered 6 languages.
At one point while typing one often thinks in one language while typing in another or vice versa.
And Stone is right. He's not demeaning your arguments or saying what you say is worthless. He is saying that it is in poor taste to boast about how many languages you know or whatever during an intellectual conversation. And you know what? It is. You have brought up the languages thing quite a few times, so one must wonder if you're doing that for elitist posturing. Are you?
