Microsoft today shed some light on its upcoming Live-enabled baseball title Inside Pitch 2003. The game is scheduled to hit shelves in May.

Inside Pitch will feature Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra as its coverboy and the premier announcing duo in baseball, FOX's Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Buck and McCarver have recorded over 25,000 lines of dialog for the voice track.

Gamers will also get to design their own players and pit them - or existing stars - in scenarios reproducing the defining moments of the 2002 season. Created players will gain skills from completing these scenarios and become greater threats against friends and online opponents.

Inside Pitch's online content isn't just limited to head-to-head matchups - it will also include downloads for new stadiums and roster updates.
