Thread: Yu Suzuki Honored as Hall-of-Famer

  1. Yu Suzuki Honored as Hall-of-Famer

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, reinforcing what gamers all around the world already acknowledge, has awarded Yu Suzuki with its Hall of Fame award.

Suzuki was honored for his groundbreaking and influential contributions to video games in such works as Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter, and Shenmue.

On a side note: The press release mentioned that VF is "the only video game on permanent display in the Smithsonian Institution's Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology Innovation." Makes me think of the time I had to interrupt some kid at Electronics Boutique that was telling some other kid that Tekken was the first 3D fighter in arcades.

    Yup.

  4. It means Yu's an innovator, not a Mr. Do-it-later.
