Thread: We Do Chicken In *Updated with some extra tasty crispy SPCA nonsence on page 4*

  1. Indeed.

  2. Y'know, my first response when I saw the "We Do Chicken In" topic was "I sure HOPE they do the chickens in, I'm not that keen on eating live birds."

  3. I hate to ruin the flamin' but my cousin is one of the leaders of PETA here in Canada. You know why elephants are being phased out of circus's ? Because she thought it was cruel! hahaaha My Grandpa always rips on her, but she get to travel all around the world, she lived in Austraila for 1 year, NJ , Alaska, Colorada, France for a little, and no she has been offered a teaching job at Harvard to teach some enviromental crap...So could ya lessin' the PETA bashing just a bit..?
PS> The pay her like crazy to do it, and she gets all those trips free, and i think they bought her house in Austraila for her, just to protest down their for some crap...hahaha

  4. Aren't there local humane society/animal cruelty groups for most cities and states in the U.S.? They can already handle the real cases of animal mistreatment. We don't need any terrorist funding people without real jobs telling us what is right and wrong about the processing of human food.

Comparing the eradication of a group of people to the continued replenishment of an animal resource is about as stupid as you can get. We haven't removed chickens off the face of the earth, but the Nazis certainly tried to stop judaism. There are millions more chickens today than there would be had we never began eating them. And isn't that what life's goal is to do? Humans have done way more than our part in keeping certain animals more prosperous than they could have possibly been in the wild.

If food replicators like in Star Trek ever become a reality, then I'm certain we will stop all forms of agriculture and move on to other things. But until that time, more animals will die to allow us and them to prosper.

Not really. Humans have done their part in eradicating dozens, if not hundreds, of species. The only reason why the government says its illegal to kill a Bald Eagle, or any other animal on the Endangered Species Act is because humans probably did something like (1) developed on its natural habitat, or (2) strained the population too much because of hunting. I mean... just look at the American Buffalo.

Humans have done incredible amounts of damage to the natural world. And we're not just talking in the 19th or 20th century - practically since the beginning of man, we have been fucking up the ecosystem. Any attempts that are made now to undo those things, like the ESA or banning fishing from parts of the country whose fish population has been depleted from overhunting, is a pittance compared to the damage we have done.

But still your point about comparing the Holocaust to chickens is true... its a horrible, extremist comparison which causes one to just not listen to ANYTHING PETA says, no matter if they actually were to say something valid.

  6. Why would we lessen the flaming just cuz you happen to have a cousin in command Chemist? Maybe you should read what is being said here and speak to your cousin, smack her upside the head or something. Show her just what type of effect PETA's policys are having on those they are trying to convert to their views.

(foot note: nature has no bigger thief than the bald eagle. never has there been a more larcenous animal... back home, any day of the week I could look out the back window and see an eagle dive-bomb an osprey to grab its supper...)

  8. Well, yeah, I know we have brought many animals to extinction. But the animals we like to eat, we keep around and in more numbers than they ever would have in the wild. And yes. I said "certain animals" to cover my ass. Though doing so never seems to work.

  9. Aight...error, you the man!
I have now control, just call'em PETA, and nothing in reference to the leaders of PETA

  10. All the chicken ever did was taste good, otherwise it's absolutely useless to our ecosystem and would nearly perish if we didn't do anything about it.
