Thread: ATI and Nintendo establish technology deal

  1. ATI and Nintendo establish technology deal

ATI Technologies has announced an technology development agreement with Nintendo. In essence, ATI and Nintendo will be developing technologies for use in Nintendo products.

Considering the fact that ATI played a significant role with the Gamecube (check the lower-right hand corner of your Gamecube and note the sticker), this certainly is reason enough to be intrigued.

No other details regarding the nature of this agreement are being made available at this time. Don't jump on the rumor mill just yet. stay tuned.

  2. i wonder if this will effect ATI's PC cards as well

  3. Probably not, unless the deal was to use one of ATI's Radeon cores in Nintendo console #5. In that case, then the Radeon line might see another spike in performance due to more research money from Nintendo.

If Nintendo is smart, they will find a way to sell a GameCube on a PCI card to PC owners. If they price it at $79.99 or so, they'd sell a ton.
