Thread: Dancing Sword: Sengo

  1. Looks like a great game to last me through school. Since (I believe this is right) The GBA has no Region, I might as well import it. (IF that statement is incorrect, please ignore the second sentance.)

  2. que?! there is a Gekido Advance? where?

You're correct, the GBA has no territorial lockout.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

Thank you, now I just have to import it without my parents knowing since I'm kind of grounded right now >.>.

  5. I thought for a second that this was a port of a GP32 fighter...but no, it looks like it's an original game. It looks quite nice, too...I hope it plays well and is light on the cutscenes.

  6. Nice...
Freedom is a road seldom travelled by the multitude...

  7. Looks like Golden Axe.

Don't know if that's a good or bad thing though.

Seen: Have you seen Gekido Advance? They did some great stuff with those big sprites.
Yep. It's pretty impressive. Doesn't even play like a GBA game, more like an arcade. It has the same style as Sengoku 3, single level scrolling backgrounds and going from scene to scene instead of scrolling the whole level ala Final Fight, which is not necessarily a good thing. I think that scrolling the entire level with as little interruption as possible is what immerses me in the game.

On Dancing Sword: I like the large sprites and especially the transparent shadows beneath them although it clearly doesn't happen on every level.. I wonder why. It will be a blast to play on my MiracleRay.

  9. I thought someone on the board said Gekido has been done for awhile, just no word on release. Hope it doesn't get sucked into the abyss of low-profile non-licensed GBA games....

Dancing Sword could be cool it seems. *-neo

It looks like it's only been released in Europe. The US version was not dumped.
