It's been out in Japan for 8 months or so. It's well worth waiting for too. The only complaint I've got so far is that it's an almost carbon copy of the first.
I know that Golden Sun2 is supposed to come out this April, which I am very excited for (Wasn't it supposed to be released in like December or January?) Anyone found an exact date on that? All I can say is I can't wait, and that I want it now and stuff ^^. Having spent 34 hours on the first part, I look forward with great interest to the second part, hoping to spend another 34 hours on it's glory.
Though I didn't find it too special, I loved the whole Djinn system, especially cause you had to trade your characters strength for the Djinn's strength. Though I usually stayed with character strength, not summoning the Djinn's very often.
Also the weapons with special Techniques is one of my favorite parts, I love the animation of the Elven Rapier's Vorpal Slash, as well as the Samuria's Quick Strike. I've always been a fan of the darkness broken by a single blow, the only image shown being the illuminated blade as it cuts down it's enemy in a swift blow, held by the immense power of it's wielder.
Though the beginning of the game was just Talk, Talk, Talk, I pray that the beginning for this one isn't the same way, and that since I've already played the first, I won't get a recap or something. Though being Level 42 may make things a bit too easy, I'm still pushing farther though my patience can only go so far until I have to spend 5 hours for one level.
What I'm not sure of, is it already out in Japan? Or am I just repeatedly looking at the release date in Japan, in which I will have to wait even longer for the glory to grace my palms.

Hmm, Last time I checked EB website had its out date to be this Month.
This month GI revied it and gave it 8. They said its pretty much the same as original, and doesnt have much changes or improvements, but is a solid game.
I will check both original and part 2 later on, once I finish Advance Wars.
Yay I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing! The Fact it's almost a carbon copy of the first hmm? What exactly do you mean, if you would care to elaborate. Do you mean gameplay wise? Or is it during the same time as Golden Sun (I'm pretty sure it's after correct?)It's been out in Japan for 8 months or so. It's well worth waiting for too. Well, I know that part 2 starts were part 1 ends, and it might be confusing for the people who never played original. Main hero is a new guy though, as GI review mentioned.
I think what Shine means that while the story is new, the rest of gameplay stayed pretty much the same, with only few minor changes.
Actually you shouldn't really complain about that though because, in reality it's pretty much just the same game split into two parts, so their shouldn't be any major changes in the gameplay or else it would be entirely new.Well, I know that part 2 starts were part 1 ends, and it might be confusing for the people who never played original. But a new character is the main guy? I heard that you start off in Jenna's group for about half the game until the Mercury lighthouse I think, then you switch back to Isaac, Garret, Mia, and Ivan. That's at least what I had heard first like when I finished the game.
I remember when I finished the game, I had no idea that it was only half the game. "Well those two were fun, wait... that's the end?! That's it?! What the hell! *Checked Gamefaqs* Oh you've got to be kidding me..."
Well, Its not me complaining, but rather GI writers who wrote the reviewI just posted their opinion here.
I personally looking forward trying both games, once I get them, and sure I will have a good time playing them.
What Despair said.
Still I think the mixed summons are a great addition, and yes it's not that much of a downside that the game is very similar to the original, gameplay wise, but I would have loved to see a few new mechanics added in. But I didn't play too far in as I didn't want to spoil the surprise for when I got the U.S. version. It's got a ton of backtracking though, alot more than the original.
See, I hardly know anything about the game, I just want it. I didn't know about the mixed summons (I'm assuming you mean summons using more than just one type of Djinn) But that sounds like a great addition. I also want more classes which I'm sure there are.Originally posted by ShineAqua

I don't know what's new or not, but yeah I'm sure they could have added a few more things, especially things being affected by the multiple Djinns, like maybe a combo system for the Djinns, where you could combine 2 of them, choose the Element you want to be the major part of the 2, and then have the effects of both (Toned down a litte) in one Djinn.but I would have loved to see a few new mechanics added in.
One of my favorite things about Golden Sun though, has to be the Battle graphics, and the character design. I thought that Isaac, Ivan, Mia's, Menardi's, and Saturouses (That's spelled wrong I believe) had some very cool character designs. Especially the last 2, I thought Garret's was ok, but I just thought he was annoying. Except at the end quote spoiler!
"Your the ones who aren't going anywhere", I thought "For once he isn't annoying, he's just right."
Well, here it is according to a Nintendo Official Magazine, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, is scheduled for April 16th! It looks nice, it's as known, from Felix's party, and the new character is like Pierce or something like that starting with a P. IT looks as graphically impressive, if not more so, than Golden Sun. So I can't wait!!!
