Wow, just wow. I remember having a blast on the C64 choplifter years ago; hopefully this new title will capture some of that old charm...

Too bad this new game doesn't let you gun down innocents. Still, I would like to try it.

  3. Holy crap, this totally came out of nowhere. I love the original arcade game, so I'll definetely be checking this out. Wow, check out the trailer, looks like fun. Although the Xicat name does worry me, I'm afraid this will turn out like that city rescue game for ps2 (or whatever the hell it was called) which had a great idea, but bad execution.

  4. This isn't actually a Choplifter game. It looks like Xicat bought the rights to the name and is using it on a game that was previously released in Japan. The game is Air Ranger 2: Rescue Helicopter, and was published in Japan by ASK. Actually, I could be wrong - it could be the first Air Ranger title. Both are for Playstation2.

Despite all that, I like flight sims, so this could prove interesting.

  5. Yeah, none of the Choplifters since the original and the Sega remake have been worth their salt anyway.

  6. Who did the original? I always though it was a Sega title.

The original was by Dan Gorlin/Broderbund. Sega's arcade/SMS game was a big improvement over it.
