A question about Neo Geo AV cables.

I've heard that the AV cable for the model 1 Genesis is compatible with the AES system. Is that true? I have a model 2 Genny, so I can't check.



I don't know how useful it would be if it were, as the AES only has a mono audio output. I'd have to get it modded again.

Yes, it is. The Gen1 is also mono through the A/V port.

You CAN use the Genny 2 mono av cable with a Neo if you have one of those odd adapters that came with the 32x. I have no idea if it would work with your stereo cable, I would assume it would work but with only mono sound.

Get a stereo mod. It's worth it. And while your at it, get the other mods too.

The stereo mod is very easy to do.... I did the bios install and stereo mod together (and I am pretty much a desolder/soldering newbie)! However, the stereo volume is pretty low compared to the stereo output from the front.

I don't have any volume problems on either of mine, but I've never used the headphone jacks very much either since they sound like ASS.
