Metal Gear Solid 4 is GameCube exclusive

In an interview with Official French Nintendo Magazine, Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that the mystery Metal Gear game is Metal Gear Solid 4 and will be exclusive to GameCube!

But what happened to the third in the series? Is this a mistranslation? An incredible typo? Or the work of the Patriots? Intriguing development…

I am thinking he must consider Substance the 3rd one or something? But that would be rather dumb. Either way thats fine with me, I am all for games being exclusive to one system. I can't wait for Metal Gear Solid Remake for the Game Cube. I am guessing Miyamoto and Hojima must be getting real buddy buddy and all while working together on the MGS Remake.

Hmm. The fanboys will be all over this one.

It'll be interesting to see it on GC, seeing as I think that it won't survive until 2005 with all of the 3rd parties pulling titles from the system.

This is certainly good news for Nintendo. Here's to hoping that the MGS name is still enough of a draw for this acquisition to be worth the wait. With GTA III stealing most, if not all of MGS 2's thunder, I have my doubts.
