Steaks however, I do like. Of course they have to be tender - no one likes to chew on leathery beef.
Besides the above listed meal, I like Hickory Smoked Turkey (I'd have it more than once or twice a year if it didn't take more than 24 hours to prepare properly) with cranberry sauce and Roasted Potatoes & Scallops. A good stew is hard to say no to. It must be a beef stew, with pearl onions, scallops, potatoes and maybe some green onions. In a deep (but small circumfrence) wooden bowl. Some good french bread (FREEDOM bread lol) to sop it up with. All are good with ale, but the turkey is particularly good with Chaucer's Mead Honeyed Wine. Steaks are also good with Bass Ale. Baby Lamb Shank, slow cooked with Rosemary, is great too but failing all of these: A Pepperoni & Mushroom pizza with a strong garlic pizza sauce.

If Garlic won't make it better then I wouldn't like it anyway.
I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't like alcohol with my food - to me alcohol is something drunk by itself, I guess I don't understand the complementing deal even though I'd want to. When i eat food I need a gallon of cold liquids on hand that I can chug and wash down food. Such as ice tea, occasionally soda (dr. peppers and root beers complement pizza and hamburgers very well) but nothing gets past ice water.
To me, one bite of food needs an equivalent of twice as much water.
I cook! My wife and I tend to fight over who gets a turn in the kitchen.Favorite meal is probably Country/Chicken steak w/garlic mashed potatoes and sawmill gravy.
My specialties:
Left over grilled (medium rare) London Broil finely chopped, cooked with butter and greek seasoning, combine with grilled onions to make an great, easy Cheese steak sandwich.
Chicken Quesidillas: If you can make a grilled cheese, you can make a decent quesadilla.
Chili-Cheese Bacon Ranch Burgers: When you make your hamburger patty, mix in a beaten egg and a packet the dry Hidden Valley Ranch Mix. After you grilled the burgers up, top with chili, cheese, and bacon.
Italian Cheese Bread Ring: sweet bread cooked in a bundt pan, so it looks like a cake. Actually a lovely fresh cake-like bread with a ring of cheese and italian spices in the middle.
I mostly do quick stuff, while my wife focuses on the things that take multiple hours. I'm well fed.![]()

I'm a pizza fan. You know, I've actually come across people who do not like Pizza. They might as well of been from Mars, because it was as if I was looking upon some strange alien creature.
Thinking back to some of the best meals I remember having:
About a year and a half ago, I went to Keens' Steakhouse, and had in order: a great Tom Collins, Maker's Mark on the rocks, iceberg lettuce with very good blue cheese dressing, a lobster cocktail (basically half of a large lobster split, some sort of hollandaise with it I think), about half of a bottle of some good 1998 California Cabernet, a bit of bread, this stunning Mutton Chop with creamed spinach, and then a dish of unbelievably fresh strawberries and blueberries alongside a glass of 1977 Grahams Port. Very good.
This bar called Cipriani Dolce, in Grand Central Station in NYC, looks like it'd just be some sort of overpriced knock-off of some well known restaurant. It's not; they make the best Sidecars I've ever had. Sidecars have cognac, Cointreau, and lemon juice in them - a couple of weeks ago, I had two of them and an okay Carpaccio, but something just sort of clicked: the cocktails were really good, I was happy to be returning home for Spring Break, very satisfying.
There's a place called Caviar Russe in NYC, mainly a caviar store, but they've also got this little restaurant above the storefront. A while back, I went there for a snack (a horrifically expensive snack, it turns out), and had about 2oz of Sevruga (which I like most of all the types), a couple of figs that had been soaked in armagnac and stuffed with good foie gras, and about 3 or 4oz of iced Belvedere vodka. Great, great stuff.
I'm going to have to say Gyros are my most favoritest food (yes, I know its spelled wrong, but hey), we have a place in town called Angelo's that has 3 restaurants on the same road, and they all serve up some of THE best Gyros I've ever had, I'm probably going to get one for dinner
Other favorite foods: Pretty much anything fried, with caffine, or non healthy (bacon, cheese, nachos cheese on almost anything I eat)
Drinkage: Soda, soda and more soda, if we're out of soda I drink tea, or possible Gatorade-ish type drinks after a workout, though that hasn't happened in a few months
Oh yeah, anyone wanting a tasty non carbonated beverage look for "Diet Air" by snapple in those elemental drinks, its gotta be the best of the bunch next to the carrot/orange drink.
Best Food I make myself- Fresh Salmon marinated in Soy Sauce and Balsamic Vinegarette
Best Premade food- Stouffer's Skillet Sensation Chicken Alfredo (The most godly frozen dinner i've EVER eaten... I was stunned)
Ramen noodles
Macoroni & Cheese
Any steak, well done.
