Maybe because we don't like crappy electronics?

Sony is about 1 tick above RCA in my book. Only becuase thier TVs don't suck as much ass as everything else they make...

I hate Sony more though becuase people blindly think they make great stuff, when in reality most of it is crap, and overpriced simply because "Its a Sony" I throw them in the same book with that other over-priced over-hyped crap factory, Bose.

  2. Hmmmm...I noticed the JVC box only has three component inputs. I'll use those three for my consoles. I'll just have to manually switch cables to watch my DVD in component then right?

So many input/outputs, cables, and electronic devices is confusing me a bit.

I guess that's why thier still in business, RCA practically invented half the stuff anyway

I have not had any problems with my Sony products, my Sony VCR works great and I've had it for quite awhile, I also have a JVC but that's been fixed twice and it is newer then the Sony one.

But hey if people want to say so and so company sucks because well you think they suck then fine

As long as your dvd player has some type of digital out, it's all good. There is little difference between an optical (ps2-like plug) and coaxial (single RCA-type plug) sound. Personally, I have my DVD player going through Coaxial and my ps2 and Xbox hooked through optical, so my DVD player doesn't take up a spot on my switch.

I want that Kenwood setup. It's less expensive than what I have now and is probably like 2x as good.

    [edit]
My dvd player puts out better sound than either of the game consoles, but I think it's due to the players themselves, not the connection. Even if my DVD player is a cheap Apex.

There's nothing wrong with Apex man. It's a great machine. Here's what I got.

  6. I have that Kenwood system, it rocks the house (literally). I have my Xbox, Dreamcast, PS2 and N64 hooked into a 4-port switcher. The video goes to the TV and I used Y-cables to split the sound between the TV and the Kenwood. Works fine.

And you can hook a record player into the Kenwood - plug it into Aux or Video2 and hit "Input Mode" until it says "Analog".

What 5.1 games do you have?

  8. Beats me. 5.1 only concerns me in movies. Stone would know better if I have any 5.1 games. Heh.

So....if I have 5.1 on my games, the Kenwood system will "rock the house" even more?

  10. I would assume so, since my 5.1 movies tend to knock expensive china dinnerware pieces from their precarious perches. For instance, Crouching Tiger knocked a mounted picture in my room off the wall. A securely mounted picture. Heh.

One weird thing, though, the highest my volume says it's at is "-10". If I turn the volume down, it acts as though I'm in negatives. I don't know if this is because of the way I set the speakers up or what, but it sure is freakin' loud at that -10 setting. =)
