Wow, that's one seriously tightbangin' PC Despair. Mine's over 2 years old already as is starting to get outdated, I may be putting one together later this year and it should have similar specs to the behemoth you got there![]()

I've got Unreal 2, NOLF2, Soldier of Fortune 2, Undying, Max Payne and few others to keep me busy now![]()
One hell of a system you've got there, Despair...
Wish I had the money/time to do that.
Ah, well. I'll just get an AlienWare.
I upgraded my PC recently too...just finally got all the bugs ironed out last week. Here's what I've got:
AMD Athlon 2400 Processor
512MB PC2700 DDR Ram (single stick)
FIC AU11 nForce2 Motherboard
GeForce4 Ti 4200 (128MB) Video Card
New ATX case with 500 watt power supply, and 2 case fans.
Left over from my old PC:
CD Burner/DVD reader drive
Floppy Drive
45GB 7200 RPM HDD
40GB 7200 RPM HDD
The upgrade cost me around $600 - not too bad. And it's a hell of a jump up from my old Athlon 550 setup

Thats a nice set up KvGood power and decent video card.
I need to finish up setting all the software and patches and service packs on mine. Also need to install Direct X drivers.
Setting that shit up and updating everything is what takes forever. It's worth it though.
Despair i have a question.. Did you use thermal gel and remove the thermal pad on your heatsink??
You can never be one of the dead, because something that has no existence can have no community.
Frontiers
Yes, We used thermal gel compound, which we applied on top of cpu, with heatsink & fan connected. The whole Volcano 9 fan/heatsink is soo damn huge, we were lucky it fit in
It also comes with wires to be connected to LED on motherboard, if you want the cool purple/red color lighting, but I didnt really cared about that feature.
Alienware is gonna cost you a lot more than building it yourself or buying from someone like Dell.Originally posted by ChaoofNee
