I was playing and REM's "It's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)" came on. I couldn't stop laughing.

Well today I went to GS looking to pick up a few used games with their buy 2 get one free sale. As usual the store was picked over and there was nothing but over priced crap left (as opposed to under priced crap I prefer). Not wanting to leave empty handed I saw SOE was release for the Xbox and for $19.99 I figure I would give it a try (some reason the PS2 version was priced at $29.99).
Now I played the PS2 version, but in the end it was not worth $50.00, heck it was not even worth $20.00. This is where the Xbox version surprised me, the multiplayer really makes this game fun. The game also make use of the Xbox's custom soundtrack feature so you add custom tunes and 4 player split screen you got an ass kicking party game! Really, anyone who liked beating the snot out of people on the PS2 version but fount the mission mode to be tedious and repetitive give the new multiplayer mode a try it is a blast.
I have only played a few single player mission but they also seem to be clean up a bit. During the escort missions the guy you are escorting will now fight back, not just sit there and take a beating. Graphics are a rock solid 60fps and while it not one of the better looking games on the Xbox it is not painful to look at.
I like what Rockstar did, beefed up a OK PS2 game with some major improvement and released it at a discount price. After playing SOE on the Xbox I now have high hopes for the new Army of Darkness game (also priced at $19.99), if it has all the play modes of SOE with the Army of Darkness cool factor I am going to be one happy man![]()
As for SOE, if you got 2-3 buds to play with and a spare $20.00 give it a try, if you don't like it you can always return it for a DVD or something![]()

Morphix, how are the co-op multiplayer modes and what do they consist of? Some impressions on them would help me decide on a purchase of the game.

There are your basic death match & survival games both can be played 4vs4 or team. Then there are too more unique games.
1st is Last Clone Standing where the goal is to see how many of the genetically enhance guards you can kill in a given time and it is wicked fun.
The big CoOp game is Chaos mode. During the game time random objectives will pop up with scoring bonus. The point of the game is to work together to hit point markers that give you more time to play the level. As you play stuff like rival gang attack will pop up and you have to kill gang members for more points or Innocent penalty when if you kill any innocents it takes points away from your score. It can get hectic but that is why it is so much fun.
I do suggest you play on a big screen TV because there are so many guys on screen at one time you might kill your own team mates. SOE is a fun romp and you can do a lot worse for $20.00.
i'm definitely picking this one up next week. i liked the PS2 version but not enough to buy it. however, the xbox's multi-player aspect and $20 price makes it a must-buy now (for me at least).
