I'm living at what's basically ground zero for SARS in North America here in Toronto. Fortunately it's mostly going on in the other end of the city.
I think it's a bit overblown - it sucks that people are dying from it, but even here it's usually not the lead story on the news. Life is going on completely normally, and I've seen a grand total of one person with a mask on.
Of course, there have still been a couple of complete fucking morons who have gone to work with it, which quite frankly makes a compelling case for euthanasia, but they're under quarantine now.
I figure it really is just another disease of the week, like West Nile (which is supposed to come back once the warm weather hits) or Ebola or that other thing...
