Just talk to people over the phone and you will be okay. I'm getting some masks though, just be sure.
Everytime I hear about some new crap concerning humans going extinct/the world ending, I say "Meh, I had a good run" and go about my business. Today is no different.

omg TNL epics!
I actually grew up in Hong Kong and I have family there. Believe that the atmosphere there is very tense... given the population density and how closely the population mingles, it actually makes spreading the damn thing pretty easy. I even have an aunt who caught the stupid thing.
In any case, yes it's an disease without a specific vaccine and without a specific cure... but it's not like it's the frickin' Ebola virus.
Thus far, the death rate is like 4% and the hospitalization rate was like 30-40%. If you catch it, most likely a strong program of antibiotics and good medical care will fix you up in a week or so.
Epidemics start somewhere you know, it doesn't just springup and fuck over people all at once. Takes some time to get going, and people tend to freak out over this in fear of it becoming an epidemic. I think I heard on the news this morning that 9 people in Canada died from it.
Who is it killing though?
Is it old folks, people with aids, etc? Damn, the flu does that already...
If its killing, young healthy 20-30 year olds, then I would be a TAD more worried...
So for now, its a ...meh...

The SARS mortality rate isn't really all that high, from what I understand. But, it does have a high incidence of secondary infections, and that's something that will really fuck up/kill someone.
To date as of April 5, according to the World Health organization, 2416 people have contracted SARS and 89 have died from it worldwide. So, thus far, that's a mortality rate of a little under 4 percent (3.68% for the curious). There seems to be no demographic of who it's killing, however.
I think the main reasons why people are worried about it is that it's so contagious, it can kill people, and that it's coming about when people are paranoid about bioterrorism. But a disease with a 4% mortality rate with little to no chance of recurring within a person can hardly be called a threat to the world population. :P
