Thread: One of those stupid things that everybody fills out.

Well, for all of you lazy fat people, a low-carbohydrate diet does work. You don't have to do a rigorous "Atkins Diet" style version of it, just:

    1.) Stop eating sugar, entirely.
2.) Eat as much meat as you possibly can at regimented periods throughout the day. Stuff yourself with meat 6 times a day, every day. Stop when you either get tired or stop being hungry.
3.) Try to avoid other forms of carbohydrate.
    4.) Don't drink soda.
    5.) Don't snack.
6.) Try not to eat prepared foods - eat stuff you have to cook/prepare.

What will end up happening is you'll begin to feel fine eating 1500 or so calories a day. You can lose an absurd amount of weight that way. Eventually you'll start exercising too, and that's important. Still, if you don't want to focus on an eating regimen and an exercise program, that works.

Nonetheless, I think being thin and/or healthy is too much of a fixation for guys. Lose enough weight to be healthy, and stop. Don't beat yourself up over it because of some self-image fixation - losing fat isn't going to change anything, it's not going to turn you into a different person, you're not a girl.

Heheh, yeah, I guess - "leisure" was just sort of a general cover-all for anything I find entertaining, and "style": I'm interested in stuff like suits, ties, dress clothing.

Agreed. You burn more calories at the gym, but all the working out in the world won't do shit if you eat like a pig.

  7. I subscribe to Master's school of thought. I am able to maintain my body weight during the periods when I don't exercise by eating right. I mostly cook for myself though.

I do know some people who eat potato chips before a basketball game and slill play great, but by the time they're in mid 20s to early 30s their metabolism slows down but not their eating habits, they become lard asses pretty fast.
I don't know how to get rid of the huge space here.

I disagree, you have to keep eating things that speed up your metabolism though. Remember in the gym less is more, and more is less.

You get thinner if you do more reps with less weight, and you get fatter if you do less reps with more weight. (not technically, but its the easiest way to sum it up)

When I would lose weight or get back into decent shape, it always happened faster if I happened to be eating a lot at that point.

Simply because my metabolism was used to having things go through it a lot of times during the day.

Then again its different for everyone and you can't give advice to someone who's body doesn't respond well to the same things yours does.
