Just me, or really stupid AIM profiles/away messages?

My away message is either my cell phone number, the default, or I'm playing a game. My profile however, is a collection of quotes which I really like. I've even got a quote from bahn to me in there.

I always end up going through my list of people and checking their AM/profiles. Nothing better to do? Check AIM for all of 2 minutes. I do it out of habit now.

Who gives... we dont need to know what your doing every minute of your useless day and life.

Then you have my friend who has something like: "People waste their time reading this, so go do something." If the asian kid who thinks hes so very sly had any common sense, he wasted his time typing that eh?

I dont have a profile because theres no need for it, if Im doing something else I usually close Trillian because thats what I use not AIM. When I do use an away message its just something normal like:
"Im playing Baldurs Gate 2 Shadows of Amn because Im a geek ass bitch and I can." Even thats when Im waiting for someone to get online because they wanna do something.

Anyone else ever notice this crap, or is it just small town Ohio white people who wish they were black that think life is a joke?

Well, I don't have a problem with most Away messages ( mine are default ), but I hate when I'm on IRC, people have that script that tells everyone what CD/MP3 they are listening to, or their computer specs.

I don't have a problem with people putting up profiles or what not. Obviously, other people do check them out. And the few seconds it takes to write a specific away message won't stop you from doing what you need to do. If you're that pressed for time, I imagine you wouldn't bother with putting up a message at all.

Do WE need to know that you are playing baldurs gate and that you are a geek ass bitch?
