Thread: Crimson Skies Lands on Xbox Live Fall 2003

1. Crimson Skies Lands on Xbox Live Fall 2003

We've been curious what became of Crismon Skies: High Road to Revenge after its initial demonstration at last year's E3. Apparently, Microsoft and its development team have been fine tuning the game to ensure its release offers a fulfilling and enjoyable online game experience.

Crimson Skies is one of several upcoming titles which will come complete with full Xbox Live support. Up to 16 players can get in on the action by competing online or via the system link (daisy-chaining multiple systems) and engage in a variety of game modes such as Dogfight, Flag Heist and Wild Chicken (your guess is as good as ours what that's all about). Plus, you'll be able to download exclusive content such as new maps and planes!

However, the action isn't limited just to aerial action, players can jump out of their plans and into stationary anti-aircraft vehichles and gun down the opposition. Clearly, this will be far from the typical flight simulation experience.

Visit the official Crimson Skies section for more details.

2. I love the Crimson Skies miniatures game...or at least I did, until FASA went under, and took this franchise with it.

I'm glad Microsoft dug it up and bought it out. The first PC game was wonderful, but was nothing near what you've described here, bahn. I can't wait for this.

3. Fall 2003!? Goddamnit! I don't give a shit about live, I just want the game! It was supposed to come out last summer! Yarg!
Barf! Barf! Barf!

4. I can appreciate your desire for the game, Clash, but adding LIVE was a VERY smart move on the part of MS. There's gonna be a whole lotta dogfightin' going on...

5. I agree, Prince. We all threw a fit when Prop. Arena was canceled. This'll be what we've been waiting for since then.

6. Yeah but this is the second time they said they are delaying it for adding Live. And I don't care about Live.
Barf! Barf! Barf!

7. So you've said. And I'm (subtly) suggesting THAT YOU SHOULD VERY MUCH CARE ABOUT LIVE!

I think the solo game is going to be very solid, but c'mon: co-op/competitive online aerial warfare is just too promising to pass up. In my view, LIVE potentially catapults the game to epic status.

50 bucks, Clash, just 50 bucks. (insert smiley)

8. This is the game I'll be getting Live for.

OK, so we've got MechWarrior Live and Crimson Skies Live. Now we just need one more Live game to complete the FASA trilogy.

Say it with me everyone...

SHADOWRUN!

9. I'm tempted to say "Pipe dream!!" But, hey, the announcement of Tekki Wars makes me think anything is possible. Shadowrun LIVE would indeed be sweet...MMORPG?
