The original Half-Life was released in 1998 and has become the phenemenon that has hosted five years of smashing sales, over 50 Game of the Year Awards, and about six million mods.

  2. WOOOOOO! WEEE!

  3. This is just the coolest....

  4. I can only hope Half Life 2 will be as ground breaking as the original. Mod-friendly would be a plus too, just think of a new "Counter-Strike" mod based on the new engine..

I wonder how it will stack up to Doom III visually?

  5. I imagine it will look nothing like DOOM III. Considering the drastic differances in style.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  6. Awesome news! Half-Life rocked. Well, until you got to the alien world, anyway. Fighting the soliders in the base was much cooler.

Speaking of first person shooters and E3, any word on Duke Nukem Forever being shown, or should we just assume that the game does not, nor will it ever, exist?

  8. piku, I know you were joking, but I figure that this game has been in development for at least the past two years, but probably the last three or four (seriously, they went from crafting Half-Life to... Half-Life patches? Richocet? BLAH! Fuck that, they were working on HL2 the whole time). Valve likely just kept their mouths shut until they were ready to show it at a time when its decently ready. Word on the street is that the game is coming out this year.
