A cop named "Lazarus Jones?" That's the single most cool character template I've ever read.
Primal is on my top ten of this year, so far, and I'm sure SCEE will deliver again with this one.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced Ghosthunter, an action-adventure game inspired by the cinematic stylings of classic horror films and draws the player into a macabre, supernatural universe of stealth, exploration and all-out action.
As Lazarus Jones, a Detroit cop who stumbles across a ghost research laboratory during a routine patrol of a run-down high school, he inadvertently releases deadly spirits and monsters into this world. With his partner abducted and another ghost granting him the ability to see into the realm of the dead, Lazarus travels the haunted world, hunting and capturing ghosts whilst searching for his partner, the professor behind the ghost research laboratory, and the creature which massacred people at the high school years ago.
"With Ghosthunter, SCEE Studio Cambridge have created a dark, atmospheric fantasy that will appeal to both gamers and horror fans," said Chris Deering, president, SCEE. "The game utilises PlayStation 2's technical capabilities to combine film-quality graphics and sound with well developed characters and a compelling storyline, delivering a rich, cinematic experience that fully captures the essence of the action-horror genre".
Ghosthunter will be released Winter 2003 in Europe (an American release announcement should follow soon) and is in development by SCEE Studio Cambridge (Primal, C-12: Final Resistance, MediEvil series).
I'm excited about this one as well. I really liked Primal, and GH looking very nice. Hopefully it will end up being a good game.
