Police from Japan's Hokkaido prefecture have charged a 21 year old man with kidnapping and confining a female acquaintance over a two week period. Police allege the man confined the woman to a second floor of his home, where she was physically restrained and beaten during the day. More bizarre, police representatives suggest the crime maybe a result of several videogames. Specifically, the man was reportedly obsessed with a series of violent videogames and adult PC simulations, elements of which he mimicked in real life. Police reportedly seized 30 games at the man's residence that they plan to introduce as possible motivation behind the crimes at his trial.
