Co-op. w00t!
Electronic Arts today announced the development of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for all the major platforms.
The player will be able to take control of Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Sam, and Frodo as they journey through multiple gameplay paths. New major features include a multiplayer co-op mode, which will let players form their own Fellowship before embarking on their journey through Middle-earth.
Based on the films rather than the literary works, the PC and console versions are being developed by EA's Redwood Shores Studio, while the Game Boy Advance version is being developed by Griptonite Games, an Amaze Entertainment Studio. Release is set for fall 2003.

thats good isnt that what everyone wanted in the first one was co-op play
The list in the preview I read a few days ago (don't remember exactly where... maybe Gamespot) had Merry and Pippin (controlled as one character, a la the Ice Climbers in Smash Bros) instead of Frodo... wonder which is accurate.Originally posted by Sqoon
