  1. Rough approximation. Mine's a 1969. I don't have alot of experience yet, and I'm actually considering trading it in for something better since I got it for a steal. Depends on if I can get the turn signals installed right or not.

    I'm a biking n00b

  2. you lucky fuck. that's such a beautiful bike.

here's what i have my eye on right now. less that 7K original miles. all parts are all original, only $1,200.
    this is pure beauty.

oh, and by the way Frogacuda, i've only ridden sports bikes before, so how does the CB feel? i'd imagine like being on a bicycle to some degree.

Heh, well having never ridden a sports bike I wouldn't know how to contrast it, really. IT's all I know.

  4. I don't want to sound preachy, but I wonder how many of you know what it's really like to go 90 plus on a bike...even on a freeway, you hit a pothole or the air-displacement of a semi-truck, and it's curtains for you.

Now, you go 200 plus on something like a Hayabusa...you just tip the chin of your helmet up, and the wind is going rip you right off the bike.

Generally, I find torque and steering capabilities more important, since you'll never use the bike's top speeds in a practical situation (I only bring this up since someone listed the Hayabusa, which when it came out, was the fastest (top speed) bike out there).

  5. fastest i've gone was about 75. not on a freeway though. i hear they're somewhat bumpy.

like i said though, im not trying to be a speed demon or anything. that CB should be right up my alley.

  6. My paranoid ass never speeds by much. It's just transportation for me.

My dad got that for $450. Man is the bargain hunting king.

  7. The Hayabusa would be nice if you wanted to avoid getting pulled over on the highway though

Money is really the limiting factor here, and I can't see myself spending more than $5000 on a bike in the near future.

whats everyones opinion on good places to find starter bikes

  9. local classifieds or cycle trader. Find something cheap and used.

  10. Fastest I've been up to was 120 when I was called and my dad thought he was having a heart attack...
    Boo, Hiss.
