Mech, that is quite true, as I said in the other thread. The sad thing is, this is probably the best we're going to get out of Nintendo for the forseeable future.
Right, because Nintendo finally making online play accessible themselves is worthless. [/sarcasm] Having outside groups make offline games online is wonderful, but having out-of-the--box production and support is the way it should be in the first place.Originally posted by Lucas Barton
people were just too busy bitching about Nintendo not going online instead of worrying about if the LAN play would be through the BBA or some other adaptor.
Yes, I read your posts on that, but with no confirmation of LAN through the BBA of course the discussion is going to be about Nintendo's lack of online support. Do you think people sat around looking at Halo screenshots before it was released going, "I sure hope we can hack the possible LAN setup for online!" No.
This is good news, yes. But it doesn't mean casual gamers will buy it because of online, because it's not "included." Having Nintendo themselves do the online for this would boost sales, and it certainly couldn't hurt it.

but just because they aren't, doesn't mean im gonna sit there and bitch about it, cause it's not gonna change anything.
like i've been saying forever, the main question should've always been, will the LAN support be via BBA, cause that's always been the only chance we have for online play.
of course they fuckin did. i mean, we've been doing exactly what you just desribed since before pictures of Double Dash were released were we not?Originally posted by MechDeus

jeez you can be slow some times.
yes well, that's really all that matters.Originally posted by MechDeus

fuck, it's really a damn shame that im not gonna be able to play against those casual gamers.
exactly. what's been done has been done. so what's bitching about it gonna do?Originally posted by Jeremy

If Halo can't make me go through the GameSpy/XBConnect crap to play online, Mario Kart sure as fuck won't![]()

Don't get me wrong, I've been wishing for this and this is extremely cool and all but I wish it was on 56k. I guess you can't please everyone though.
Ha, you're living in the Stone Age, my friend.![]()
Well that's like, your opinion, man.
Well obviously, but hey its free so I can't really complain. :P
That's not what he's saying. What, do you have a wedgie or something?Originally posted by MechDeus

The context of his statement is something like "People weren't checking what Nintendo was going to use for LANing Cubes together. If it's the rumored Bluetooth and not the BBA, we're screwed for tunneling."
This is true. However, in the absence of Nintendo's official support, this is the best we're going to get. Since we are not getting official support for it, Nintendo is including this LAN play via the broadband adapter as a work-around -- they know people are going to write tunneling software.Having outside groups make offline games online is wonderful, but having out-of-the--box production and support is the way it should be in the first place.
Uh, right. Go talk to some hacker-types for a bit, you'll figure out pretty quickly that they like to monkey around with things they're not "supposed" to. The first thing I thought of when Nintendo said "MK LAN" was "tunneling".Do you think people sat around looking at Halo screenshots before it was released going, "I sure hope we can hack the possible LAN setup for online!" No.
Word-of-mouth will spread. Watch and see. There will be a LOT of people going online with this. This is good news, yes. But doesnt Halo GameSpy suck ass with any more than like 3 players?
