If you live in Northern California in the SF Bay area and you just want a sushi fix, you should just go to Sushi Chardonnay in SF. By far, my favored destination for all-you-can-eat sushi... better sushi than Todai IMO. $21.95, freshly made sushi by order.

Yes, Todai's sushi is suspect... especially on weekday when traffic is slow.

The sushi at Todai is nasty. But, I guess it's quantity over quality for eating at a buffet. Try the rum cake. It makes you feel all kinds of good.

When I go to eat sushi with my girlfriend, we spend between $75 and $90 on the two of us. But it's worth it to me because the restaurant we go to is soooo good! Much better than any other place I've been in Austin. And before you ask, should you feel inclined, Austin has so many sushi places it's ridiculous, many very good and highly regarded.

It's called Umi Sushi Bar & Grill, and while I found Umi's on the web, none seem interrelated, just coincidences maybe? This one's got plenty of other Japanese offerings, bento boxes, tempuras, udon... Their green tea ice cream is great, as is their red bean ice cream. My favorite of the sushi is the uni, sea urchin roe. Beautiful restaurant too!

Great, now I'm craving sushi.

It was Friday during the lunch hours when I had gone, and they did a pretty brisk business. Dunno about the other days of the week, though.

That Sushi Chardonnay sounds pretty nice... now if only they had a location much closer to me.
