Dynasty Warriors 4 Coming to Xbox

Koei will release the Xbox version of Shin Sangoku Musou 3 (Dynasty Warriors 4) in Japan this summer, the Xbox version will include a new officer not found in the PS2 version.

I'm glad I waited to pick this up. In a perfect world it would look like Crimson Seas, but here in reality I'll settle for a bit less slowdown and fog.

I've heard it may be out here in august, I guess Koei's holding back the news for E3.

I mean, y'know, I hope. It is Magic Box, and there's no actual source for the news cited, but EBgames had a listing for it for a while, and it's hardly far-fetched.

Isn't that something like 40 characters in the PS2 version? In which case one more would not be that big a deal. They should've made some more levels instead.

I actually didn't care about this series until earlier this week when a friend invited me to play co-op. Serious fun, although I'd imagine single player would be pretty dull. He's an Xbox hater, so I'd love for this version to completely blow the PS2 one out of the water.

This allegation I cannot deny. I mean, I know Koei milks their franchises as badly as anyone not named Capcom, but I don't really care. I just wanna smash stuff with Guan Yu.

Well, any Xbox game made by a Japanese publisher at this stage is really more than I'm expecting, so the extra character's just icing on the cake. Maybe it'll be someone really cool, like Sun Tzu or something. Or maybe it'll be a gimmick character - Nobunaga was in the first (PS1) Dynasty Warriors (he was a model switch with Lu Bu). More than likely, it'll just be some obscure 3 Kingdoms character they felt it was important to add for some reason (Mi Zhu or someone else unimportant).

Actually...did they add Liu Bei's son to the roster in 4? He's kind of important.

I spent two hours in co-op mode on DW3, and I never want to touch the series again. I'd say it was even more repetitive and less fun than Crimson Seas, which I played all the way through...

I'll buy it. I passed on the PS2 version because the problems with slowdown and fog weren't fixed, but hopefully the xbox version can lessen these problems.

DW4 only had one new character over 3. Actually, it added 3, but took away 2. However it had a poorly thought out create a general mode which could be great with only a little improvement.

Magic box is right more often than they're wrong and they seem to have gotten progressively better. I'd trust them over IGN and Gamespot any day.

I don't follow. Why would you even want to sit around for 1000 KOs, much less 10 times that amount?

You also got everyone's Lv10 weapon and all of the stupid saddles and other items and junk?

Those 2 "ended up" in the Create mode... which makes sense to me since Fu Xi and Nu Wa aren't Romance characters in and of themselves.
