Thread: Dead or Alive Code: Cronus coming this fall

  1. anything DoA can kiss my ass.

that's all that i'll be contributing to this thread.

  2. DoA 1-3 and DoA Volleyball have all kicked ass. I see no reason why this latest DoA won't kick ass as well.

  4. DOA2 was cool, DOA3 wasn't. Either they sort out the janken bullshit and significantly beef up the moves lists (VF4E has spoiled me) or i'm not touching it.

    I agree.

DOA3 was amazing. There's plenty of moves (more than I would use in a match, and enough to offer many ways of playing each character), and all the moves are generally useful. Not sure I could say that about VF4 (plenty of redundant moves, or moves that aren't any better for a given situation then another). Purists can argue all they like of course...besides, I'm pretty sure DOA3 has about as many moves as an average VF4 character anyway, plus their reversal properties play into the game as well (different for each character), and the DOA3 characters actually have moves that interact with the environment (a lot, actually), plus all of the tag moves. Uh, I think VF4 has wall-attacks.

Whether or not you like the game style, it's pretty retarded to argue against it being a well-made game; Team Ninja really puts a lot of thought into their DOA games...I expect the new one should be entertaining until 4 makes it out.

Anything Lucas Barton can kiss m...I mean, thanks for stopping by.

  7. I prefered DOA 1 to DOA 2 and 3. The gameplay in 2 just didn't click with me, and 3 seemed to be more flash than substance.

  8. 3 was just a prettier 2 to me. It's fun, I like playing it with a bunch of friends, but I don't cry myself to sleep knowing I only have my DOA2 for PS2 since I don't have an XBox.

  9. DOA3 was great fun. It just needed much more costumes, and they need to decrease the time frame in which you can reverse.

The long frame time is so you can punish someone who attempts a reverse so they can't just chicken out of it. I wouldn't mind the time reduced personally, though.

I think DOA3 could have used more game modes. It had the exact same modes which me and my friends had already played the heck out of in DOA2. It could have done with some more confining stages as well so wall moves could come into play more. They seemed about half as useful in 3. And what's with the lame final boss? I mean Tengu was bad enough, but geez...

DOA3 is my favorite 3D fighter, even if it's not the most technical out there. At least the character models don't make me cringe.
