True, RE2 and to think of it most of other games in the series are never going to be known for their mind breaking puzzles. If it is puzzles that you want in your horror game, play Silent Hill series instead

Even the mixture puzzle in RE wasnt all that hard. I do remember that god damn medalion hidden in the book in the original RE. I had no idea it was there and completely stuck, wandering for hours, trying to find out what the hell I needed to do to get past that part !!!!

Thank god I'm not the only one saying this. Every time RE rankings come up, I want to snap, because everybody keeps talking about RE2 like it was Christ or something.

    So far as I'm concerned,

    RE:CV > RE / RE3 > Most things in life > Sex with fat chicks > RE2

I'm really torn about which to put before which in regards to RE and RE3. Without thinking, I'd say RE > RE3, but then I think that RE3 deserves more credit that it got.

  3. RE3 is the most underrated in the series.

  4. Are the GC ports of 2 and 3 really rare or something? It seems like they are much more expensive than the REmake and Zero, which were MADE for the system, and not ports.

They are not available new anymore...that's part of it. They didn't have a huge press run, but the fact that they demand near the original msrp for a used copy is rediculous.

Worst of all they are basically the same as the mediocre DC ports, which retailed at $19.99, not $39.99!

Which are basically the same as the PC versions, which can be had for balls of lint or bits of string.

  7. Unfortunately unless you have a 1998 computer, they are near impossible to run.

  8. RE2 is my favorite in the series, mainly because it was my first RE, the story is pretty good, the 2 characters are cool and its even cooler how each how 2 different scenarios, and its just one hell of a fun game. I've played through 2 so many times I know almost everything about that game.

RE was a great game and unfortunately I never beat the original, but the REmake was great and really brought back some good memories of the original.

I hated RE3 mainle because of the damn Nemesis. I just freakin hated that bitch. I also didn't like having only one main character to play as and then play as one other for like 10 min only (although I've gotten over that now).

CV the first time I played through, I hated it. Thought some of the level design was lame, some of the characters were lame (i think you all know who I'm refering to). I dunno, it just didn't click with me. When I replayed it on the cube, I did enjoy it more, but there was still something about it that just didn't compare to any of the previous, though I do like tons more than 3

0 was not as enjoyable, and is second to last right in front of 3. First time through, I realized boxes were the shit, and I ended up doing more backtracking that I would have if there were boxes. Also some of the puzzles were just annoying when you kept having to switch back and forth between characters.

Those are just my takes on each game. RE4 looking to be pretty good and will be an even bigger change than in any other RE game to date.

I agree with this except I'd definately put RE3 ahead of RE.

  10. Ridiculous that the ports are so expensive, since I just wanted to move all the games to one system, to make it easier since i never played through them yet, and wanted to do so in the future... looks like it's ugly PSX for me hehe.. Anyway, I haven't put much time into 3 or CV, but I enjoyed 2 more than 1 in terms of scope, but sometimes 1 was just better for atmosphere. I also liked Dead Aim because I'm a sucker for light gun games.
