Thread: Your Top 5 RPGs Of All Time

  1. Your Top 5 RPGs Of All Time

As some of you may know from my previous posts, I just got Lunar and Lunar 2 and am enjoying Lunar 2 greatly. After logging in a good 13 hours, I've come to the conclusion this is one of my favorite RPG's, one of my top five. I haven't played too many RPG's in my day, so I wanted to know what some of your top 5 are?

    Here are mine.

1.Final Fantasy 7- not my first ever, but it was my first true great RPG
2.Lunar 2- I love the cut scenes and the story and the battles and etc.
3.Final Fantasy 6- I was about 1/4 way through when my game was deleated but what I did play, I really liked
    4. Final Fantasy 5- The story is great.
5.Mario RPG- Not the best RPG out there but it was my first RPG ever so I owe alot to it for getting me into the genre.

Lunar SSSC has yet to arrive so it will probly get bumped up in there once I play it. I have not played FF1, FF2, FF4 and Chrono Trigger yet, but I do plan to pick up FF Origins and FF Chronicls as soon as posible.

  2. 1)Chrono Trigger
    2)Final Fantasy 6
    3)Earthbound
    4)Secret of Mana
    5)Secret of Evermore

  3. 1. Grandia
    2. Grandia 2
    3. Lunar Eternal Blue
    4. Lunar the Silver Star Story
    5. FF5, Chrono Trigger or Suikoden, can't decide now

That just includes regular RPGs. If it included Stategy RPgs, Final Fantasy Tactics would be #1. Vandal-harts might also make it, but doubtfully. I like GameArts RPGs too much. I need to play Skies of arcadia Legend, I loved the DC Skies of Arcadia, but it was seriously hampered by the ridiculous encounter rate. They supposedly fixed that in Legends and it could be 5th in the non-strat-RPg list.

  4. I'd have to go with the Soviet RPG-7, as the mostest bestest of all time. Sure, it's around 40 years old and the range isn't all that good, but it's cheap and still packs a punch that can go through most armor.
