Thread: Good deal or getting jipped?

  1. Good deal or getting jipped?

Tonight at work my friend Sean and I were talking about videogames and he told me that he had a super nintendo he was willing to part with. He then, jokingly, asked me if I would trade Splinter Cell and an Xbox S controller for a SNES and Super Mario World and Street Fighter 2. I jumped at the offer, and he said he would do it.

So right now the trade is set and i think i'm getting a good deal.

Keep in mind that I am done Splinter Cell, and have 3 other controller S's. (only Halo is needed for 4 controllers and for that we play LAN anyway)

Is this a good deal for me?

    Thanks, in advance.

  2. Well, you can get a used SNES with two controllers from Gamestop for $49.99 and neither of those games are rare and can be found for real cheap (I found Super Mario World for $3.00). Since you are trading a $30.00 controller and a $49.99 for them, I'd say you are getting jipped. Even if you've finished Splinter Cell, I'd bet you could get at least 25 dollars for it.

  3. If you think you got a deal that's all that really matters.

  4. I live in Canada and there are no Gamespots. Actually, that brings me to another question:

Anybody in the GTA, east side, know of a used videogame store that's credible?

  5. The best you can get for Xbox Splinter Cell now is $30, and that's mint. An S-controller goes for $15 used.

SNES system with 2 games can be had for $30-$40 on ebay. You're not getting ripped off too badly.

  6. i'm managed to find an snes, 2 controllers, and like 20 games for $25.

    check your local flea markets.

  7. Okay. Thanks for the tips guys. It doesn't seem like I'm getting jipped too bad. He even has all the original packaging.

  8. My parents bought me my SNES back when it came out and I've had it ever since, along with all kinds of Square, Capcom, and Nintendo-y goodness. Yum.

It would depend on the condition of the SNES in my opinion. If it's an ugly yellowed one, hell no. But a mint SNES is worth far more than nearly anything else in my opinion. It is like a fine diamond.

  10. I read through it the first time and thought you were trading the Controller S, Splinter cell and the XBOX... but then I reread and yeah that's an ok deal...
