Thread: Namco withdraws merger proposal

  1. Namco withdraws merger proposal

Namco has informed everyone today that it has withdrawn its merger proposal with Sega.

"Sega told us on Thursday that it was not in a situation to give a specific answer to the proposal. And we decided that it is not the right time to proceed with the merger discussions," Namco said in a statement.

This information comes right after the collapse of the Sammy/Sega proposal.

  2. Good. Everyone can concentrate on being themselves and not a part of someone else.

  3. No one seems to want to merge with Sega. First, Bandai backed out back in '96(?), then the whole Sammy fiasco. There were also those rumors of a Microsoft buyout of Sega about a year or so back.

    Poor Sega...
