    They have overhauled the offical site and added new pics for the PC version. It looks better than before.

    I really like the inventory around the edges of the screen:

    The interface does look cool. Ion Storm said that their experience with making the PS2 port of the first game resulted in a much more streamlined interface for the sequel. I guess this is the result.

    As nice as this game looks, I'm afraid it will be overshadowed by games with far superior graphics and animation like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. The downside to Deus Ex is that to those who don't know much about it might pass it off as "just another FPS".

  4. What's all the fuss about Deus Ex again? I bought it for the PS2, had a pretty good time and then sold it for some quick cash. It was alright, even solidly good, but I never knew what was so great about it that everyone said it was the greatest game of all time.

    I didn't play enough in to it to know, maybe? Explanation wanted.

  5. It's hard to be impressed by an FPS after Half-Life 2, but the concepts of story and gameplay quirks that Ion Storm will bring with Deus Ex: Invisible War make it worthy. It's definetly something I plan on picking up when I get my PC done.

    Man. Too many great FPS games coming out XD!!!

    I can't speak for the PS2 port since I haven't played it but I imagine it's not as good as the original.

    Deus Ex gets progressively better after the first few hours. I just love how your decisions on how you upgrade your character effect the way you go through the game. It constantly forces you to think and make decisions. For me it's a welcome change to pure-action first-person shooters(which I also love). Plus, the whole futuristic world and political conspiracy story is incredibly well-done.

    To give an example of why I love Deus Ex and emergent game design in general...

    You see a guard. In most FPSs you can either shoot him or run past him. In Deus Ex, you could shoot him, or tranquilize him and throw his body somewhere, or hack into the computer system and set the defense guns to kill him, or find a completely different way around, plus other things I'm forgetting since I haven't played the game in a while.

  9. The PS2 port is dogcrap. It's got a horrible framerate that really interferes with the gameplay. I've played about 5 hours into it. It's obvious to me that it's a great game and I hope the XBox version gets a good framerate cause it'd be a shame to miss both games.
    PSN = knarlockk
    Steam= kevinb150

  10. I loved the first Deus Ex. It was the most open ended FPS(Actually it's really an rpg but I still don't see it as one) I've ever played. I haven't followed up on part 2 except for screens here and there but I'm quite excited. The PC is just booming with amazing upcoming releases.
