I could care less as to what bothers you or what you've 'clued' into, Vegey. Please, spare me the 'TOTAL lack of information and understanding' bit. It was just a 'fun' comment said in jest.

I still don't see how mocking the prize committee's standards had anything to do with a communist/socialist confusion. Someone picked Pol Pot, he picked Castro, I referred to Arafat (the modern freedom fighter of our time) as he actually has received one. It was a shot against dictators more than anything (just a coincidence that they were/are so-called crusaders against social/economic injustices).

Our government (more on the left, but quite universal overall) also promotes social warfare, envy, and hatred of the rich by the poor. It makes easy pickings for voter support since there's more poor than rich, and if you keep it that way, and continue to whisper in their ear about how the rich man wants to bring you down, you get more votes. And so the cycle goes.
Yeah, well said Hero... Though, I can't deny the value of some social progams for people that are deserving and really need it, it's the corruption, the class warfare card, and all the other negative issues (hidden agendas) that go along with it that turns me off.

  2. sure he deserves a nomination with the blood of a thousand deaths. All hail sir George, butcher of the century.
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...

Hey, come on now, don't be mean... if Arafat can win one, why can't my president?? Let's at least try to be more open-minded and support a diversity of views in said matter...

Right. You're called on something, and all of a sudden it becomes a "joke" and my comments deemed "unnecessary" as I "misunderstood" you.

    Nice one.

  5. actually veg, i think you are reading too much in here, night is clearley an old skool board conservative, his comments were actually sarcasm. and i feel there is a large difference between socailism, as marx theorized it, and what Canada,or any european country applies it. Marx clearly bases his socialist theory on the class conflict, and his dream called for a full overthrow of the so called upper class(those who controled capital) by the prolitariat(except of course,he spelled it right) and "true" marxist socialism would be closer to the full centralization of production that the soviet union had, then the slightly intrusive left wing govenments of europe. just because its called socialism does not mean it really is socialist.

  6. Hey, if I'm misunderstanding something, great. I'm sorry.

What I saw was someone (liberal or conservative, doesn't matter) smack-talking someone else based on a grossly innacurate and uninformed opinion of Christianity.

Again, if I was wrong, if I stepped in and shot from the hip, if I offended due to preemption, I apologise.

  7. not calling you out, trust me. but i know how easy it is to get genuine sarcasm misunderstood,so i figured i would step in for the guy, thats all, we cool,we cool. I beleive we have allseewhat happens when i actually percieve someone slamming christianity seriously, particularly in fight club so if i thought he was really talking smack,i would be all over him like evil on a democrat.(sorry, i suck at the turn the other cheek thing).

Yeah, that's right... I happen to be Christian, conservative/right-wing on most issues, etc... I was just mocking the insults I see hurled at me on a daily basis by the irreligious left.. How it's ok and p.c. to make sweeping generalizations against Christians, their views, etc. and place them all under one umbrella. I was just mimicing that.. As for the other comment, I had an atheist friend that would refer to himself as a "born-again atheist" as a mockery towards born-again Christians, so I didn't think much in just using that.. So, sue me...

See, Frost caught it... I would've expected Hero to go on the offensive if he took it seriously.
