Yay!
F-Zero GX rules. You already know it does. You, reading this, have never played it, and yet you still know. You know that it's going to be the best game in the series, and you know that you're going to spend hours and hours with the game. You don't even have to play it to know; sometimes you just get that feeling about a game. So, to quote TNL's own Reno: "I don't even need to play any other games anymore. It is the game."
Doesn't it feel good to be right?
You were, and F-Zero GX is that good of a game. I had the opportunity to run a race today, and I've found my game of the show, at least so far. I chose Pico from among the racers that were available (most weren't), picked Mute City, and was on my way.
As soon as the intro hits, you know you're into something special. Mute City has futuristic buildings, roads, and sky as far as the eye can see, and it's all some of the most beautiful work we've ever seen in a game. When you see the giant R.O.B. on top of one of Mute City's buildings, you know you've gone into gaming Nirvana. Everything about the visuals is just too good to describe.
Amusement Visions hasn't left anything to be desired with the sense of speed either. What you get easily the best rush ever felt in a game. As well as the other F-Zero's did speed, this one beats them all into the ground, making all the rest seem like a little girls' game, the kind that you might put in to keep your niece busy and quiet. They might as well rerelease them with the Spongebob Squarepants licence. Adding to that feeling is the fact that GX is hard, or at least this build is. If the game releases with this level of difficulty, expect to be frustrated, but in that good kind of way.
F-Zero GX looks good, plays good, and just feels good. If you miss this one when it comes, you should have your gaming privileges taken away.
