If you ever wondered what Virtual On would be like as a collect-em-up, Gotcha Force has you covered. If you don't care...too bad; Capcom has a potential killer on their hands.

It's a very simplistic premise - kids collect these miniature toys (complete with salvos of weapons and clever designs) to send out to battle, where the best of the best get reginition...and...stuff...

Ah, screw it - it's just a reason to put teams of toy robots in a VOOT deathmatch. And what a match; the E3 demo has preset teams to choose from, and players control one toy at random as the CPU takes on the remaining crew. Control is oriented around whatever opponent you have targeted, and there's a range of dashes, attacks, specials, and combos to be utilized. Dying just sends you into control of another team member, and the process continues until one side is left standing.

The pace is frantic; with so many enemies to go against, so much terrain to abuse, and unique set of abilities for each toy, its a fun ride. Expect to see customizable teams, over hundreds of unique robots, and 4-player action to be had. Easily my personal 'unexpected' favorite at the show.
