Hey, no shame in liking a kids show when you are a kid. Though I had a friend who purchased all the DBZ VHS's back in hugh school, and I still make fun of him to this day for spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars when now the DVDs are a mere fraction of what he spent.
I knew a kid like that. Holy shit, every two weeks another $30 tape... while that shit was airing on Cartoon Network for free.

Being an anime fan around 2000 was such a fucking scam.
I fell into with DVDs on a certain show, but wised up before spending a fortune on it. God bless box sets.
The Japanese episodes were better and the translations more accurate than the 4Kids version.
My one friend did the same thing, buy the VHS tapes. Yet this was back in '92, before they even thought of bringing it over to the US. He would get the tapes like the month after the Japanese TV release. I think he had the same 3 shows per tape, for 20. They were of good quality too ... well as best as VHS had to offer at the time.
