HK: The Solid Snake in Twin Snakes is not. The original Snake from the MSX Metal Gear game was based on Christopher Walken. (laughs)

Hideo later went on to mention that he has never met Walken.

Yeah, I heard about that before. The interview actually refers to the original PS1 MGS and not really original MSX game (in which Snake was designed after Michael Biehn), but the translator made a mistake. In MGS1, Snake was designed after Christopher Walken with Van Damme's body according to a Yoji Shinkawa interview.

Nope, it where's he took the Snake part of Solid Snake's codename. The Solid part was to make it more paradoxical.
