I was at Barnes and Noble this weekend and happened upon the last issue of a magazine called Games (TM) from the UK. Did'nt think much of it, but decided to browse through the pages, as the cover reminded me of the first issues of Next Gen. Magazine.

All I can say is WOW! The magazine is just amazing. In this issue alone, they had interviews with Shigeru Miyamoto, The Bitmap Brothers, Jason Ruben and Bioware (The company behind KOTOR). The magazine also features retro ads from the Spectrum computer and other games from back in the day. In the back of the magazine they have tributes to the Atari 520ST, The Sega Master Sytem and NES. The magazine goes one step further, by talking about JAMMA boards and old arcade greats.

At $9, the magazine price may seem steep, but I encourage anyone to drop by Barns and Noble and browse through this great gaming magazine. The US gaming publications, could learn a thing or 2 from this magazine.


The one thing that has me dumbfounded though, is that I go to their website www.totalgames.net and they don't have the magazine listed.

Chapters in my area has a bunch of UK mags. I never buy them because they're so expensive but I wouldn't mind checking out this issue.

Yeah it covers alot of Retro stuff, was gonna get it but the price seemed kinda expensive, It's one to keep an eye on though. I haven't seen it many places.

Is that the mag that has Devil May Cry on the cover (it maybe an old issue), and has a HUGE classic gaming section?

I wanted to buy it, but I couldn't rationalize paying $9 for a magazine.

It's a decent magazine but I stopped buying it when they filled their magazine with spoilers. Their reviews of HOTD3 and Metroid Prime had screenshots of the final bosses!

This is me. I've browsed it a few times and it looks to be a quality mag, but I can't get over the price, import or not.

Yes. Only one magazine had Devil May Cry on the cover, and this is the one.

That was issue number 3. This is issue number 4, which I've posted the cover for.

I tried it, but it wasn't as good as EDGE.

By the way, Next Gen was EDGE's sister magazine. So if you liked Next Gen and see a copy of Edge, give it a shot. From what I hear, they're similar (although Edge is the original and therefore the best :P )

I REALLY love Edge. MILES better than Games TM and well worth its (mildly extortionate) price.
