Thread: New EGM scores!

I mean, I understand that, since you're hardCORE and all, you really can't like a game like GTA3, a game that sold millions, most of which were satisfied customers. That's the way it is, I guess. But... that doesn't change the reality of the situation.

Im gonna say the same thing I said to someone else: whether its using a mouse button or a controller button, you're doing the same shit. You're nerding it up, one way or the other. Instead of pressing your mouse button to swing your sword at some ghoul, you're pressing the x button on your gamecube/dreamcast/snes/tg-16/xbox/whatever. Your "it's better than pointing and clicking (the mouse)" argument is worthless, all you're doing is moving (the analog stick) and pressing (the button). So STFU.

That said, Diablo II is way faster paced than PSO, the levels have a lot more variety, its way harder, and there's a lot more to do. Plus, its FREE to play online! PSO is definitely Diablo Lite. If you're cool with that, hey, congraturations. Me, I prefer not to go back to 1995.
Uh, woah you're messed up. I'm not a hardcore gamer or anything and I love great games that sell. Like VF in japan, Super Mario Kart, SF2, Super Mario Bros one etc. GTA3 just doesn't deserve to sell. So shut yer trap.

No wonder you like games with bad playmechanics if you think pointing an arrow at something and click it is the same as moving the analog stick towards an enemy and pressing the button. So every game like final fight is pointing and clicking? RTS games have the same control scheme as double dragon?Ok sure buddy. It's called control, the're different levels of it. Oh and in case you didn't know, control is a huge part of a game. The more control you have the better. You can turn on the dime and attack in every direction instantly.

Argh... silly boy, you missed my point. You're here talking like "point & click" is pure shit and using a controller is great, like there is something inherently evil about p&c. Well... Im just saying there's NOT. It's all abstraction.

Your comments about how you can turn on a dime and shit... have you ever played Diablo II? You have all the control you need. Plus, like I said, Diablo II is more complex than PSO, so you do in fact have more control in that game. In fact, the 2D top-down perspective is way more intuitive for a game of this type. But that's just me.

But I didnt want this to turn to a Diablo II/PSO pissing contest. Fact is, PSO's gameplay is ancient, and well Diablo II's is too, but Diablo II is less ancient. So whatever.

BTW, how the fuck do you get your EGM so damn soon? Mine always seems to be later than yours. Then a week or so after I get mine its in stores. Or do you just find out the scores before the mag arrives?
That is a very good question.

  4. EvilMog: Here's a tip: Since you automatically hate every thing Sega has ever made, maybe you should stop buying them so I don't have to hear you bitch, just like I stopped buying square's peice of shit RPGs after the drek that was FF7. I'm beginning to think you only buy these game to bitc about them.

And everyone else, stop quoting people on my ignore:

Actually, you missed the point. I'm not saying a keyboard and mouse control is bad. I'm just saying they are different. FPS and RTS games work way better with a keyboard and a mouse. While other games work better on a controller. PSO is designed to be played on a controller and Diablo is designed to be played with a mouse. That's probably why PSO is designed in third person instead of overhead. Oh and yes I have played Diablo 2. If you don't feel/experience the big difference, then I can't help you. Third person controls and first person is different. Overhead and third person changes everything. How many enemies you see in your line of vision, how to approach them etc. It's like saying Metal Slug is the same as shocktroopers, which just isn't the case. If you think Diablo is superior, then cool. It is superior in a lot of ways.

Okay, I was wrong. The game I was thinking of was Trouble Shooter for the Genesis. I believe I read it received (near?) perfect scores by Famitsu. It came to the States and was considered average.
    No gnus is good gnus.

Not many people think most of their games are gifts from gods, Just a lot of people that are really into gaming and some reviewers. Otherwise they making some big cash. People think EA games are gifts from gods for soem reason.

It's obvious that you have a problem with Sega for some reason. Cause every post you only single out a Sega game.Like this post you singled VOOT out of SC, Vagrant Story, and Zelda. Even though I think Vagrant Story and Zelda are pretty damn overrated, I don't single one of them out because I have nothing against Square. I like their games.

  9. ok, your right. Vagrant Story wasnt good either. Zelda I do like. And Soul Calibur 1 and now 2 are two of my favorite fighters ever.

Its not my fault I sound like I single out Sega. Tell them to make something badass. I will like to give the new Virtua On a try though.
