Games that I actually want to play + no charge. If this all works out i'll be online for the first time since the Dreamcast.
well, if you go to GameSpys E3 2003 Awards...you'll see this in the Mario Kart article.
anways, after all the talk that Iwata made, the stuff the GameSpy dudes are saying, and that interview that GCA did with GameSpy, im sure we can all expect the game to have an official online mode. The multiplayer stuff is totally rad. Most people will be playing it on split screen, but those fortunate enough to have multiple televisions and multiple GameCubes in the same household will really enjoy the LAN races. This game screams for online play! Hopefully our GameSpy brethren will take care of that (Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge).
anyways, these are the features that GameSpy's service will offer.
[li]In-Game Player Matchmaking Text Chat, Instant Messaging, and Buddy Lists[/li] [li]Online Competitions and High Score Ladders [/li][li]Online Data Storage (for virtual memory card applications) [/li][li]Usage and Game Statistics Reporting and Analysis [/li][li]Data Transfer to and from the Internet[/li]
it's great that they're releasing the SD-DigiCard Adaptor soon since you're gonna have the ability to transfer files over the internet.
also, since F-Zero has network code in it, i really hope they make use of this service. hopefully Nintendo will use this service with any game that has multiplayer. maybe then will we see 3rd party games use it too. cause i'd really love to play THUG Online with a GameCube controller.
still, i get the feeling that the only games that will use this service will be games published by Nintendo, and the occasional important 3rd party game. but even then, im not too sure about 3rd party support. oh well, atleast now there's a solid online plan.
anyways, it seems like this is gonna run on GameSpy servers, and not just be a matching service like xbox live. but the best part of all...it'll be free.

I am giddy like a little schoolgirl.
This one goes out to all the bitches who laughed at me for buying that GC BBA with PSO.
Who's gonna be playing Mario Kart online while getting totally wasted this fall?
That would be me.
I'd kill (KILL) to have this in Mario Golf too.

what don't you get?
Hooray for me!...Pickin up the GC soon and now am goin to get the BB adapter juss for this. I think Nintendo should really promote Gamespy's network feature...Its a win-win situation for them. They dont want to spend money on online networking nor do they feel consumers are willing to pay for it.
How can something we don't know about already have a list of features? Are these the features of GameSpy's PC matching thing, or was this officially announced, or what...?Originally posted by Lucas Barton

Gamespy are the ones that wrote the software for Nintendo
Gamespy wrote the Lan software that is being used in Mario Kart and other Lan games and these are the features they said they included in the software
Gamespy also had an article on hwo easy it would be for a 3rd party to impliment Online support in games and all these features and said with their software it would only take a company 2 - 3 days to impliment all those features for online play in a GC game
here you go Andy...Originally posted by Andy
