with all those fucking stickers that gamestop puts on the cases? fuck that, I avoid that when I can. besides, I still dont get why you would want to wait to play a game you are looking forward to.Originally posted by GunValkyrie4Life
Or by MINT used. I saw a Blinx yesterday used, but absolutely MINT for $12.99... versus the new price, with all taxes, the lucky buyer of that will be saving $39.82 (in Cali) over what the game cost on release day... and guess what? The game will be the same as it was then.
those stickers are easy to take off, though. its called 'nail-polsih remover'. works great.
So? its a fucking box! i dont know about you, but i dont really pay attention to the box when im playing the damn game.Originally posted by Box Drink
Yeah but when you wait till the games go down in price they get those gay greatest hits, platinum hits, whatever logos all over the box.
You're opinion shouldn't count, you don't give a damn about cases in general. I like mine to look good on display, and I'm sure there are alot of people around here that feel the same way. People who hate that the spines of the greatest hit's titles stand out because they have red where the black ps2 bar should be, yeah these people are out there.
also nail polish remover messes with the plastic covering, I know...
Skin So Soft works wonders on getting the sticker gunk off of discs/boxes. BD, how should his opinion not count? Just because he isn't anal-retentive about his cases? Real valid reason for his opinion to be automatically discounted. I don't like GH stuff, and I go out of my way to avoid buying them, but I'm not going to just throw someone's opinion away just because they don't agree with my stance on the ever-so-important topic of game case appearance.

Actual Game > Game Case
sure, i want my cases to be in mint condition, but im not going to buy the game new for $50 when i could get a used copy for $20, and the case has a litte wear on it.
But that's always been the case for the gaming industry. Even software drops in price in time. You're not enlightening us here. If you've decided to shift your priorities or don't want to spend as much money on your so called hobby, then that I can respect but just starting a thread whining about the lack of quality exclusives and making sacrifices will get you no sympathy here. You're telling omfgninjas to think before he posts but maybe yous should maybe do the same.Originally posted by GunValkyrie4Life
Anyway, someone quoted about me missing out on GV with this new mindset I have, and I guess thats called sacrifice, which I don't mind. Ultimately, a better plan of attack would be to buy ONE console, then in 2 or 3 years then begin picking up the others... my head absolutely explodes when I think of how much money I would have saved had I just got the Xbox 2night as opposed to Dec. 2001. Lets see... that's $120 I would have in my hand RIGHT off, literally, $120. Not to mention the games... gasp, when I see games like GV at Target for $15... I swear I want to cry. Does anyone realise how MUCH this all adds up to? It's REAL money PEOPLE, and the games would be the same games as they were a year ago, only drastically cheaper, DRASTICALLY.
And I knew I was right. You are either poor because your complaining about losing 120 bucks over the course of 2 years which is silly or you DO plan to buy more than one console but much later when they're cheaper. So what was the point of your thread again![]()
You need to get out more. There are other stores out there.Originally posted by Box Drink

There are also exceptions to this buying rule, like a Mario game, because the price will stay extremely high even for used for quite some time, but 99% of games seem to be half price within 3 to 6 months. Try looking at the BIG picture on the money that will be saved, it will add up quickly. Only a half dozen games purchased with that Blinx scenario would net a savings of $240... and we all know how fast we can buy 6 games... besides if you wait for games, there will always be a lot you will want to buy, the rough going will only be the first couple of months.
And when I said MINT I thought it would imply it wasn't littered with stickers.
well gunvalkyrie4life, going with your argument, you shouldn't even buy any console for the next generation --- just hold out until they all drop to the price you're willing to pay for. that way, you'd be saving a heck of a lot more money.Originally posted by GunValkyrie4Life
"You just lost out on 520 hours of entertainment to save $100."
The only way this would make any sense is if there was nothing ELSE you would be playing instead. Hell, I just got Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the 64... I'm still buying old games, to even suggest you need ALL the systems immediately on release is just foolish and would only apply to someone who had no other systems.
Also, that only takes into account the console price. Do you know how many games I have NOW that I paid full price for that are NOW $15-$20? It's a shame. On the Xbox alone I'm missing about $500 EASY (conservative) versus the console price I paid, what I paid for the games and what they are worth now. And thats just the games I HAVE NOW, not included the Murakumos of the world and all the bad games I got ripped off for. Am I the only one who works for money?
