I REALLY doubt that, but I am looking forward to EVO. The jaggies were insane in VF4... they kinda messed up my fun with the game, and I am not even a graphic whore. I still play VF4, but not as much as I still play SC..lol

  2. Damn it! And here I thought I could keep that god aweful GH crap off my shelf. I hate when I'm wrong.

BTW, what qualifies VF4E to be greatest hits? Doesn't the game need to be released and then sell at least 250k copies to qualify? (and no, VF4 doesn't count because it already is it's own GH and there were too many changes that were made to VF4E to boot).

Sony's stupid for letting this go through. I can picture the confusion already.

If it matters that much to you, just get the import and pay thrice the price. I'm buying the US one... VF4Evo is VF4Evo. This has got it all over Soul Calibur 2, IMHO.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  4. maybe the greatest hits bar will be removable, but at $20, i'm not complaining.

That's what I thought. I thought I was going to play SC2 over VF4evo cause I played VF4 like crazy. I thought a newer experience would make be play SC2 more. I played SC1 like crazy as well but you are going to be damn surprised by the SAMENESS of it all. The music is not as good, neither is the artwork. Plus the stages are not as exciting. Some of the big stages are boring as hell cause both players have way too much room to work with, kinda like Tekken. SC1 got perfect scores across the board. I think SC2 is gonna be lucky to get 9's, honestly. Seems like a lot of people feel the way I do about SC2 as well.

Don't write it off just yet. I might be right when you get it.

Well. I love the score of SC2 (I have the soundtrack), and I've seen most of the levels, and they are amazing. I'm a SC fanboy, lol, so... um... most of the complaints people have about it don't bother me. I'm not writing EVO off though... maybe it WILL top the sequel to my favorite game ever. I doubt it, but anything is possible

What I don't understand is why everyone is kind of "revolting" against Soul Calibur 2. It is REALLY weird... lol.

  7. People just don't really like the changes. I would probably play SC2 more if it was just an update actually. With the Same soundtrack, same art, same costumes. There's just something off about SC2. Ring outs seem less important, doesn't seem like you have to worry about your back being against the wall that much. Some of the costumes are really weird looking now. Like instead of Hwang with the crazy tatoos they have Yung sung with the half tank tops that look really lame. Instead of the crazy astaroth with the executioner mask, they have him with a Jesters mask and a big honking nose etc. Stuff like that. I don't like the fact that you have to hold block to duck either. I was fine with the double tap to 8-way run downward. The music sounds more like RPG music now cause its more orchestrated than SC1. Fighting games should have upbeat music. SC1's music was half olden day and upbeat. SC2 is just olden day music. There's just a lot of changes that kinda ruin the package for me.

let's just say the same people hating on SC2 are the same people that didn't like the changes to VF3. Once they got rid of the dodge button and arenas, the VF2 fans loved VF4. I seriously hope that Namco goes back to the SC1 style for part 3.

Ahhh... I see. Well, I've played SC2 in the arcade multiple times, and I don't really have a problem with these things. I like the joke weapons, the weird 3p costumes, and the new characters. I also like how there are walled arenas, and caged arenas, as Ring Outs were kind of annoying, especially in training. I like how Guard Impacting is easier now, and how side stepping and 8WR are more important. The new guard break feature also rules.I am also glad they got rid of the clone characters, and differentiated the returning ones.

I also understand that SC was a revolution, and SC2 seems to be an evolution, but it still rules in my book. EVO looks sick also... This is a great time to be a fighting fan.

In terms of VF3... that was kind of a radical change. SC2 doesn't really seem to have THAT big of a change in terms of the fighting engine.
