Me? They do not represent me. They don't represent most Christians. Just like pop music doesn't represent most people on this message board or the music buying public. But both you and I know that it doesn't work. I didn't buy his CD. You probably didn't buy his CD. In fact, his best selling CD only went 7 x Platinum. 7,000,000 CDs sold to 280,000,000 people. So, you cannot possibly blame the whole of 280,000,000 people when only 2.5% of the population bought the disc, now can you?

The same goes for Christian TV preacher jerks. Being that Christianity takes up 84% of the population (CIA World Factbook 2002, combining Protestant and Catholic numbers, some probably unpracticiing but admitting), 235,000,000, to judge the entire religion based on assholes who attract a few million people is idiocy. And if we want to take worldwide numbers on the issue, it gets even more ridiculous.

So in the end, your blaming the popularity and position of a few men on the entire mass is indicative of zero thought on the subject. That every practicing Christian is somehow responsible for the production and placement of people like Falwell, Robertson and Bakker is beyond flawed. If your logic were correct, then every single one of us is responsible for the popularity and position of Eminem, Titanic and George W. Bush. Because, after all, we're all Americans. I mean- you could have bought Radiohead, Reservoir Dogs and voted for Al Gore. You didn't want the winners in the positions that they got into. But they did. And without use of the majority, even.

My point (before I had to reboot) was that Shine isn't differentiating between accountability and guilt by association. Saying that all Christians are responsible for RObertson is like saying all gamers are responsible for Columbine, or that all Catholics are to blame for child molesting priests.

If I had done something to put Robertson in power, then I would admit it. But considering that I've done nothing to support him and I've done many things to oppose him, I resent being personally blamed for his rise to power.

That is all I have to say.

Actually, it was CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) that Murdoch bought and transformed to Fox Family. Murdoch and partner Haim Saban sold it to ABC/Disney/CapCities for an insane amount of profit.

I will say this: the reason Christians are predominately represented by nutjobs is honestly because these guys know their Bibles inside and out. The religion is founded on aggression to those who are not Children of God. the reason that flawell is found as are reprsentative of the christian faith is because he has used his business acumen and ability to rally wealthy people with extreme points of view to help finance his media conglomerates. Extremists have found high positions in just about EVERY political and social institution, and those who are used as spokes men are seldom the best representatives of the said group. Those given access to the media are those who will make "Good Television". the fact that he "knows the bibles inside and out" has nothing to do with the his ability to gain power, i personally know 3people who can quote verse and chapter from memory, and 2 of them work in a deli, so growth in power is not based on that criteria..

Now for the nonsense that christianity is founded on agression,good ol nick, that is utterbull. The new testiment is the outline for the behaviors of a christian,and if you can see the part where Jesus specifically tells us to attack or strike another human, i will send you a lollypop. if there are comments that GOD will damn or condemn a person, we are never instructed to take justice into our own hands and do like wise. In fact,the well known parable of the woman accused of adultry by the crowd specifically discourages it. Actually tobe specific, the scripturesonly promise damnation for those who are given the word and reject it,in short, you have to choose damnation,so spare me the "promise of damnation" bull, you make your own choice,deal with it.

I am certianly no fan of Roberts or fallwell, since they are certainly no fans of catholicism, but i certainly dont see them as any worse than patricia ireland,or al sharpton, or my favorite bigot,Madylen Murry O'Hare.Its a question of perspective.

We don't get cable out here. We have a satellite but I haven't watched it in forever. Got tired of muddling through all those channels only to find nothing worth watching, heheh.

But yeah, it seems that TBN is still around; I guess our satellite provider either dropped it or I just haven't seen it on there in a long time. I don't actively look for it because I like to pretend it doesn't exist, heheh.

Your grammar is appalling, but I will try to make a comment here. It's not really Darwin's problem that Hitler used his theories to fuck up the world. It doesn't make Darwin any less correct or anything. Hitler's ideas seem to be a flawed extension of Darwin, but that doesn't mean Darwin = Hitler. You could use induction to prove that every single person in the world is named Steve, but all that means is that YOUR assumptions are incorrect (and this was actually a problem in one of my math classes).

I mean, Im sure you knew that, but I just want to make that statement, as much in response to Pat Robertson or Falwell as you.
